Most of the rest of the world has learned English as a second language. While I am not justifying the means in which this is happening, it couldn't hurt us to learn the language of our neighbors to the south and those that live in pretty much the whole continent south of us. |

it won't hurt me to learn the language of somewhere if i go there, but i dont want to have to learn it to live here. although i am sure i will have too sooner or later, by then my son will be old enough and i can just move somewhere else where it is not such a problem |

It kind of bites where you have an issue in a retail establishment in the US and the guy who is supposed to be helping you cannot speak English well enough to help you. I thought that is why he was there? |

Well, you can't not hire somebody because they can't speak english. That would be racial discrimination. |

Not if the ability to communicate in english is a requirement of the position. Lack of understanding the english language is not a protected disability. |

It's just the tip of the iceberg. We are all witnessing the pussification of a nation. There are many issues similar to this going on all over the US but they all don't bother everyone, some bother him and some bother her. It's all horseshit! Remember when The US was a respect earning world power? The rest of the world laughs at us now and they are right in doing so. |

Chainsaw, I moved to France, I learned French. When I got married, & when we had a civil naming ceremony for my son, the Mayor conducted them in BOTH languages, as a courtesy to invited guests. We also had my brother-in-law playing Scotland The Brave on Breton bagpipes. How would you like going to a ball game to hear the stadium music in a FOREIGN language? At most ballgames you'll hear a clip of a tune called Rock n Roll, by Gary Glitter, he's a Brit & a convicted paedophile. You gonna stop going to the ballpark now? I hope you drink coffee, otherwise it's force 10 in your tea-cup. |

Who is this "Big Sandy" and what is so special about her vagina? And what does one's liking of "in and out" -who doesn't like it - have to do with not ever having eaten at a Sonic? |

Eboos, Portuguese is Brazil's dominant/national language. Close to Spanish but not quite. The folks in Lisbon told me that they can understand Spanish, but that Spaniards had trouble understanding them, or something like that, I might have got it backwards. |

I'm a freakin' creton, I love the "big sandy vagina" remark. - It just sounds cool. I there any way to make it more vulgar by like, adding hair into it some how? "big hairy sandy vagina", just doesn't have the same effect. Wouldn't "pink hairy taco" be more appropriate for this thread considering the topic? -Ras |

Hey Ryker77, There is a little drive-in taco stand in Norcross at the intersection of Jimmy Carter Blvd and Singleton Rd called "El Grill". This place has the best tortas I've ever had and the price is right. They don't speak much English there and Mexican music is always playing on the PA, but the food makes up for it. You should check it out. I go every chance I get when I make it back to Atlanta. The food is way better than the Sonic. |

Anyone see Office Space? "People go to restaurants not just for the food, but also for the atmosphere." VERY true. I like to be served by Mexicans and listen to Mexican music at a Mexican restaurant, and the sames goes for Chinese restaurants, Thai, Indian, etc... I went to a Fuddruckers (very American) with all Mexican employees. It just didn't feel right. |
