XB, As a friend of mine used to say; "You'll have to judge it in the spirit of time..." -Which then became synonimous for "dead slow and ill handling". Which probably will not be the case here, yet still...- BTW, talking 'bout old iron, did anyone of You ever own/ride a Laverda SF? Sweet bike! Not handling as well as a Norton, but practically indestructible engine, minus a few small quirks. Mine was a '71 SF, two of the largest drumbrakes I ever saw and I loved that tank and one-and-a-half seat... Strange thing is, over here in Europe these bikes are underrated. Prices on Nortons sore, up to 6.500 Dollars for a nice Commando. Yet a 750 SF will set You back some 3.500 Dollars? Saw a 1955 Dominator this weekend fetch 8.000 Dollars!? Out of this world these prices... |

Sorry about the crap photo of my road going Mk3. Redstripe...here's the biggest front drumbrake ever on any road bike! CMA 8-leading shoe, rare as hens teeth now...the front wheel is a 19" to give you some reference of size.

Mark: Good photo or not, I like it! Are those "S" pipes? And the skeletonized "Z" plates are cool! r-t (Still haven't fired mine up yet--holiday travel and last-minute chicken-sh*t details got in the way) |

I got the pipes made specially, 1 1/2" dia, up 1/8"...check the cylinder head clamping arrangement...I made up spigot inserts to clamp the pipes to like Triumph did. This ensures the exhaust threads stay intact. I made the silencers myself, straight thru.......very very loud, I've shoved a piece of ali pipe full of holes down them to take the bark off the noise. The 33mm Mk2 Amals don,t work right at the moment, will go back to Mk1's when I have the funds. |
