I never knew how many veterans and current soldiers were on this board. It is out f&%$in' standing! I'm 13F (Forward Observer) E-5 type working with the 2/112th Inf out of Lewistown PA. Its amazing how many different people I work with, 11B's, 11C's 13B's, commo guys (Helped us in tight spots many times!), TACP's, 63B's... the list goes on! Thank you everyone for your service!

Haha....Stress cards...I have heard of them, but never saw one. I'll tell you what, when you get to the sandbox there is no such thing. I get shot at pretty close to daily, and since being here have suffered somewhere in the area of 30 IED and rocket attacks. Stress is HIGH at times, basic WILL teach you to deal with it. Trust me, if I could "times-out" my battle with a stress card, It would have been flying high!

On a lighter note...Don't let what I have said here deter you. Luckily I have not been injured, just had my share of head ringers. Trying to fall asleep with tinnitus (sp?) can be a b*tch though!

Being in the signal corps you should be cool, basic will be a breeze, AIT even easier. You can even have your POV (privately owned vehicle) at Gordon I think.

I don't remember what the acronym stands for, but you will be what us line soldiers call a POGUE!

How many year enlistment are you doing?

Stress Cards, what a concept! I remember jump school at Ft. Bragg in 1960. One day I had to do so many push-ups I think I changed the axis of the earth. COULD HAVE USED A STRESS CARD THAT DAY. I didn't even mention the squart jumpers that I had to do.

Speaking of MOS's I was a 111.67. Any old school guys want to define that one?

Good Luck to you again.

Good luck, do your best, and above all have fun! The guys you go through Basic Training with are a special group of guys. You may not even talk with any of them again, but you'll remember them forever...

Whew. Just did me PT test today. Had to do 1 mile in 8:30 and in 1 minute 13 pushups and 17 situps.

I did my 1 mile in 7:00 and 40 pushups and 29 situps. Think I passed.

Congrats. When you get to basic everything doubles. Meaning; run 2 miles, and 2 minutes push-ups and 2 minutes sit-ups.

You know, I get asked how I feel a lot. I think I know now. Numb. I'm not feeling excited or nervous, just in between.

Was looking at my bike now on the stand with no battery in it and sta-bil in the gas. Can't be ridden now. I feel sad over that. I've spent so much time on it and feel like I'm leaving a good friend for a long time. Many memories on that bike. I know I'll be able to go back and ride it, but it just feels like it's over. Weird, huh?

I'll be writing to Xb9 and SeanP on what's happening and hopefully they'll be able to relay what's happening to you guys through this thread and vice versa. Don't want to be to far out of the loop on the Buell happenings.

Well, this will be one of my last posts for some time now.

Cataract2 aka Ryan
Signing off.
