"Try checking out the ATC forums without registrating. " Can't. And difficult to decide to rejoin or not if one can't read the forums before signing up. I know they were open/closed/open/closed off and on for awhile after the .com => .org shift, but don't know if that was accidental or not. |

The row over on ATC was wiped just after I had rebutted a bunch of derogatory comments about BadWeB. Kinda rubbed me the wrong way. If you are interested, the deleted files follow. |

You just can't let it die, can you? People have repeatedly asked to let the thread die, but you refuse. Personally, I think the best site was the EARLY ATC site. The only flaw with that site was the fact that you couldn't post pictures. |

Uhm, The Admin doesn't allow pointless amonymous posts and while you couldn't upload pictures with the old ATC site you could have then displayed in your post by linking them from another location. |

Blake, I understand your feeling and you have every right to be offended. I felt the same way when I first started reading the thread on ATC. I tried putting in my two-cents the day the thread started (14th post). Let it go, it's not worth the effort. -JW:> |

Damn internet forums hide the true person behind the keyboard...or does it expose the true person behind the keyboard? Talking smack on one board about someone on another isn't cool. Have the nerve to stick on one forum or better yet, take it one on one via email. DAve |

I know I shouldn't even comment on the late ATC thread. But, I did note this comment from Maverick very early in the thread.
Quote:OK..I lied, I checked the thead...too me its no big whoop... Dyna your just stiring da pot.
Maverick thought the controversy was no big whoop from the very begining and he was 100% right. But haven't you people heard the saying, "It takes two to tango"? Other people kept the controversy going way past it's deserved life. People seem to blame Dyna for that and I don't think that's totally fair. Yeah, he stirred the pot initially, but a lot of other people kept it going when they should have said, "Well, this is no big whoop and I'm not going to keep seriously discussing it." |

Mr. Witt, Thanks for the most kind words concerning dcbrag.org over on ATC. We're just a quiet little site in cyber space on the prowl for Buell art. Speaking of quiet, José's been lying low of late -- must be gathering research to go a few more rounds with Blake. DAve, must...get...pics...of...that...gorgeous...S2. Steve(2) |

Maverick, Appreciate your attemtps to quell the BS. Unfortunately you were one of the naysayers who I rebutted. There were others who jumped on that wagon. I was not upset at all over the loss of the discussion thread with dyna that was total crap, he knows it and so does everyong who read it. I WAS upset that after investing a significant amount of my time to carefully and in good nature rebutt a bunch of derogatory remarks about BadWeB, the thread was killed before anyone likely had a chance to consider my remarks. Then my notification of the availability of copies of the thread here apparently got deleted too. That kind of censorship doesn't cut it with me. Nothing was done as long as people were badmouthing BadWeB. When I post rebuttals, the thread gets deleted. That stinks. I hope the 'Ruler' of ATC reconsiders his reaction to a little adversity. I'm an ATC member and I do peruse the forum. Y'all visit here and that's great. You even post notifications about new features on the ATC site and such. I am all for it. I expect the same consideration in return. I'm not getting it. The html files were still in my browser history. I trimmed out the extraneous stuff to save on file size. Read the thread and my rebutals again. Tell me where I'm wrong. |

Reading Blakes rebuttals had me rolling on the floor. I don't know how you can spend so much time typing and stay in good humour. It was hilarious stuff! Much more entertaining then the thermodynamics fuel thread. Can one of the admins delete that one... yawwwwnnnn |

Tripper: Most amusing was the answers to the questions never asked nature of the convoluted logic. It was kinda like: Interviewer: What color is your Buell? Answer: 7 There were inferences, assertations and extrapolations represented that just weren't there. In re-reading the entirely of the dialouge, I think I've found the true culprit, far further up the food chain than Dyna or any of the internet surfers and taken steps to avoid future such entertainment. By the way....your thermodynamics comment reminded me of today's project. Anybody got a real good fluid dynamics contact or a contact at Modine in Racine, WI ? Court |

Interviewer: What color is your Buell? Answer: 7 Reminds me of a short story: Went to Detroit on business, and broke for lunch. Co-worker was going to lead me to the other office site and a lunch place. She asked what color rental car I had so she would know what to look for. I said "medium". She looked confused. I said I couldn't remember the color, but it was a medium color, not light, not dark, medium. Sure enough, when we got to the lunch place she said it did look like a medium color. |

DAve: your S1W is nearly STOCK. gaaaaggggg What are your plans to rectify this sad situation. A stock S2 I can tolerate, but let's see you get crackin on that S1. Do you need money? Sell me the S2! Hello Court; I really got a laugh from the chap who had his feelings hurt because you did not return a call. I remember early in my BadWeb lurking days receiving a call on my cell from a dude who's name I recognized os a poster on BWB, and what the hell is he doing calling me? Encouraging me to seek out a dealer who understands the Buell. How quaint, a passionate Bueller. It turned out to be one of 3 events that eventually pushed me over the edge. Taking the test ride (in a suit & tie?!) Finding Dave Chall, Bruce and Kenton at THD/BUELL. Timmy2shoes' prose about his love/hate relationship with the S1. I wish that post was archived cause it's worth printing out and hanging on the wall. In any case I certainly do relish every minute spent on this strange bike and thank ALL of the contributors to this board. And Thanx to Blake, Jay and Scott, and Vik and Lurch. I can't imagine how much time you guys spend maintaining these virtual sandboxes for us to play in. |

>>>Hello Court; I really got a laugh from the chap who had his feelings hurt because you did not return a call. I deleted my initial response. Suffice, not for argument, but simple statement of fact, to say that I wish I'd kept a log of the folks I've talked to, in 5 countries, in the 6 months I've been unemployed to help with Buell issues from helping dealers with sales strategies to helping XB owners find NTN bearings to replace the FAG's. Also be interesting to log the nubmer of people I've sent Buell parts and stuff to ranging from rear sprockets to brake parts. Anyone want to mention what I charge for parts and shipping? In fact, the most frequent question I get is "how did you find me?". If someone said I did not return a call, that is an inaccurate statement. Excuse me, this has not been a good week. Court |

C'mon now Dave Tripper That S1W has a force intake and a Vance&Hines slip on. I also have a pro series race kit for it but haven't put it on because I may be selling it. (Someone doesn't understand the requirement of having 4 motorcycles...sheeeeeeeesh) DAve |

Cheer up Court, The snow will be gone soon. I am still chanting "Snow Go Away" and it is very slowly going. I figure by April it will be gone. Dave, Thats not a real S1, its a S1W with purple wheels(oops Nuke Blue) but if you couldn't find a S1 that will do. hehehe hahaha I actually have picked up a S1W Manta Tank for my S1 for the trip to East Troy (just wondering how much discomfort I will be in when I get there but you only live once so fuck it, I am gonna deal with later). I was actually going to paint it black with some airbrush work but after looking long and hard at the stock color Silver (oops Billet Metallic) I am gonna have it Painted Billet Metallic and use the decals from the 99 and up bikes so they won't bubble. Actually I am still quite amazed that the stock decals have not bubbled yet on the original tank. Tripp, I know of a pristine 1995 S2 in Ontario if your interested drop me an e-mail and I can send the information. Take care guys and life is way too short to be worried over this kind of shit. Especially those of you that can ride this time of year And now a quote from Crusty "WINTER SUCKS |

Newfie. If you but that manta tank your seat won't fit unless you buy a S1W seat. Or the Buell Custom seat. P.S. I have an extra Manta tank in the garage. A little road rash. But if you are planning to paint |

The tank will fit but with the stock S1 seat it doesn't fit with the Manta tank. Do you already have it on there? From what I have seen there is a very subtle diff in the S1 and the S1W seat. That won't allow the S1 seat to fit properly on the Manta tank. |

I can't let this go by without making a comment. I haven't really posted that much on any forums because it is so hard to guess how others will take what is said. I have the highest respect for Court, Blake, and many others who post here and anywhere. I am an educated lurker, meaning that I have gone back and read just about every archive I can dig up. I can not count the amount of times that some one has been helped or encouraged to make the right choice for them or their bike. I may not agree with every little thing that is said but I sure do listen to it. I guess what I am trying to say is if there is anybody out there that doesn't feel like this place or any other forum has helped them out... Start your own forum (just ask Blake how much effort has to go into it). It really makes me ill to think of someone slamming anybody who has the Heart/Guts to try to help out some of these people who happen to love the bikes that they choose for themselves. I am very thankful that all these people are here and I say without any doubts that Blake, and Court really love what they are doing and I deeply thank them for that. I will end by saying that anyone who has a problem with these people has more of a problem then they will ever know. Ben |
