Ok so i am trying to get local channels added to my dish network account. no problem right!? wrong why would they have people answering the phones that can barely speak english? this lady's accent was so thick i hung up on her. i could not understand a word she said. i had to call back until i got a person that could speak more clearly and i still had a hard time understanding him. if your job is to answer the phone and talk to the public shouldn't you be able to speak clearly? Am i the only one that has this problem? oh well i am done complaining now. |

That's because they didn't have any openings in gardening or farm help. Let's give amnesty to all of them, but that's another thread. |

Did you ever think that the call center you are speaking to is located in another country!!!!!! Call Centers these days can be anywhere in the world. Here on the island we have many centers and some of the largest employers are call centers. However, if you do call up this way you can be guaranteed that you will understand, we may speak a bit fast but you can understand us. |

Most of IBM's call centers are in India, as are GE's, Microsoft's and most of my credit cards. You get what you pay for and the higher paid offshore helpdesk people are better English speakers. It's like the Mexicans coming to take your low paying jobs, but the corporations don't have to worry about legal residence. Oh and we do have some help desks in Canada, Scarborough, I think Newfie, and trust me none of these Southern Yankees down here can understand them! |

The one that really KILLS me is Earthlink. You seen their commercials with all these hometown, perfect English speaking, been in the country for 10 generations, Americans??? Then when you call in to get some help, what, what was that, I am sorry I don't undersatnd,............on and on and on... One of the main reasons I dropped them. And that is not to mention after you go through the"if you need () press 1, if you need () press2-------if you need () press 10023!!!! Gotta go, I am about to break something, mainly the vein in my temple. Yea I hate it alright. |

Had the same problem with most of my credit cards and my Dell PC. I once called Dell support and the person on the other line couldn't even understand english numbers. I repeated myself 4 times before hanging up, calling back, then getting someone else that could not understand English numbers either. I was trying to give them the PC number and when they would repeat the humber back to me, they were replacing random numbers with the number "0". It was no coincedent, they BOTH were doing it. |

Its our elected leaders that allow this to happy. Regisitar to vote. Vote. And in the same time it took you to b1tch on the chat board or post a funny picture. You could have emailed your government and complained. We need to take our country back. |

I am a member of a group that sends me updates on these issues and email addresses of the appropriate people to contact in each situation. I send emails quite frequently and rarely or never get a real reply. WHen I do get a reply, it's usually a generic BS reply. |

My congressmen and senators normally send me a letter. Normal BS letter. But they keep track of the % for or against an issue. They need to keep enough voters happy. It's better to send your own email and not a mass generic letter. You can also call or write a letter. Just let them know that you vote and you demand this to happen. Do not give up. People died for our country the least we can do is vote and protect our country and way of life. |

Ryker- What does that have to do with our current leaders? This started long before the Bush administration got in here. Grow up and quit blaming them for everything. If you can't post factual information, quit posting! |

The government can't stop corporations from leaving the country. Stop buying stuff is the only way you are going to get your message accross to them and we all know that's not gonna happen. |

Dan, I shouldn't have gone political, you said it best. Whenever we want the government to fix something it usually gets worse. Look at campaign finance reform. If you had a complaint against Buell would you write your congressman or would you contact Buell? If you don't like the way a company operates, don't support it. |
