If so why our are politicians even considering allowing MILLIONS of people we DONT have a CLUE who they are, amnesty? Isnt that a conflict with they,re "at war on terrorism" policy? |

Terrorism is using terror or the threat of terror to change ones relegious, political, or thoughts by the use of force or threat of force. It's an IDEAL. How can you fight an thought? Better yet how can we use force and the treat of force to turn the Iraqi's into a version of the west. You could argue that the illegals in our country are terrorist since they are trying to change our country. We will look like Mexico in a few more years. My town is allready getting bad. The town north of me-- nearly all of the blacks have left and most of the middle class whites have moved out. Just a few rich white people making money off of cheap/slave labor.. |

"How can you fight an thought?" With freedom and more/better thoughts? By eliminating those who promote and most zealously adhere to such thought? I do agree though, the term "war on terror" is not a good one. We are at war with the islamo-fascists/terrorists. "Better yet how can we use force and the treat of force to turn the Iraqi's into a version of the west." Not sure we desire a version of the West, just freedom and democratically based government. But the answer to your core question is that we do it exactly the same way we did it in WW-II in Japan. Unfortunately since WW-II America has not had the will to win a major war. War is hell, war is horrendously brutal, savage, unfair, heart wrenching, violent, horrible, the worst of mankind. But if deemed necessary, we need to fight to win. Wipe out the enemy. Get it done! Our collective conscience and evolved sensibilities simply won't permit it, not with the state of the modern media. Recall the hysteria over the incident where a marine shot and killed the guy who was deemed to be playing dead? There you go. I'd rather ride than talk politics. |

"democratically based government" Seems like our government specifically don't want that there, because they would elect an imam, and impose shariah law upon themselves. The people there have no interest in freedom, except the freedom to exercise their religion, and democracy is alien to them as well. Oh well, we'll force that democracy on them at gunpoint if we have to. (Message edited by jayvee on April 07, 2006) |

snip* MILLIONS of people we DONT have a CLUE who they are, amnesty *snip I'm assuming you are referring to amnesty for illegal immigrants. The heart of that issue is the illegal migration of people from Mexico and other Central and South American countries. (even though it does include others who admittedly could be terrorist). My point is Mexicans and other Pan-American people are usually not terrorist, even if they are illegal immigrants. Steve-O |

"because they would elect an imam, and impose shariah law upon themselves. The people there have no interest in freedom, except the freedom to exercise their religion, and democracy is alien to them as well." I think you are wrong on that. Polls say otherwise. No sharia, no theocracy. Yes to democracy. Maybe not the way you would like. "Oh well, we'll force that democracy on them at gunpoint if we have to." Exactly, just like we did to the Japanese. |

I agree with blake... shock!!! "How can you fight an thought?" "With freedom and more/better thoughts? By eliminating those who promote and most zealously adhere to such thought?" So we must stop trying to police them. Just kill them. No trial, no jail, no justice. Just "eliminate" them. It would be cheaper and quicker. |

Harsh but true. Maybe the better thing is to suffer their evil. I dunno. I'm becoming weary of it all. I do think it is important that we keep our word though. No pulling out prematurely. It sucks, but that is what we promised. Newf is probably right too. I can see him charging up the old flame thrower right now. |

oh and yes i agree that we should eliminate the terrorists like Ryker77 says but if we choose to do so them we must be ready to eliminate all terrorists even the "militias" in our backyards...and I don't think Americans are ready for that type of war. Its easier to eliminate terrorists hundreds of miles away then the ones that are already here..... |

Newf is probably right too. I can see him charging up the old flame thrower right now. I figured it would be a seal club depending on how you take the tone, I think our own Buellgrrl nailed it. We can't solve Iraq's problems they need to get out of revenge mode and as a nation hunt down and procecute the thuggs that perpetrate the violence, Untill they collectivly uninte and quit buying this crap about American invaders there is going to be this or that war lord that is going to try and grab the reigns, and the suffering that goes with it I hope that we make good on our promise and stay the course, on the illegals in country that is a knotty problem, a lot of good ppl would get hurt, but we must enforce our borders, does any one else see a breake down here? sitting in washington and going haarrrrumph is not going to solve this, pointing fingers wont, name calling wont, talking wont, action will, we all need to take stock, I think that it's time for a ride... God Damm Seal Lovers, If a seal was not cute and cuddly would they "Sir Paul McCartney and Lady Heather with the big mouth" be out on the ice trying to help them. Who is saving the Lobster, Cod Fish, Cow, those cute little Bambis - Deer. I don't own a club but if I had to go get a seal to eat, make a coat I certainly would. Many years ago the annual Seal Hunt was a very big thing, go back even farther and it sometimes was the only fresh meat people would have after a long, hard, winter. Its funny, Costco - Price Club, decided to stop carrying Seal Oil Pills in the Local Warehouse after getting some bad publicity from the Sea Sheppard Society, when they made the announcement their business went dead - for about 5 straight days not many people even went there, sales plumeted. After about a week the senior management decided to put the pills back on the shelves and the warehouse has been blocked ever since. I'd say we go club all the seals and send the meat to save the starving children, its very high in protein and Omega 3. Oh and Blake, if I had a flame thrower I'd eliminate all the damm snow thats still in my garden. |

Got1nut.. To answer your question acording to scooteroid/ stev-o "My point is Mexicans and other Pan-American people are usually not terrorist, even if they are illegal immigrants. " Steve-O They cant be "Pan Americans"...Only whitey, Blacks, Arabs.etc. humm however couldnt they (terrorist) look pan american....mmmm nah noway..All other except them...Come on wake up.. My point is if were soft on who were letting come in and granting them a free pass. Whats the point of the over 22,000 casualties we have in iraq so far not even counting afghanastan?? Hell 110 plus died in Jan alone(iraq). You ever seen a talibani in person, or iraqi? I doubt it or you wouldnt think all of the pan americans are "good to go" to come into america free of law. Im seeing a double standard here in the Goverment... Gee It must be election time. Its amazing how politicians will sell out theyre own policies and veterans alive and dead.. for a vote. |

Newf, Ever think of converting garden to ranch and raising baby seals? Don't want to make you feel too bad but I like to brag about our early Springtime to all my friends up North. Our tomato and pepper plants are blooming and the cucumbers are starting to climb. The fire-ants are also out an about. Gotta take the bad with the good I guess. I don't believe that anyone would object to the clubbing of baby fire-ants. And wasn't there even a big Disneyesque animated feature film about them? I guess the poor little insects are still trying to live down the old '50's monster flick genre, not to mention the much more recent Star Ship Troopers. Humans only think we rule the Earth. The bugs fish and birds have it. Lucky for us they don't tend towards organized hostility against humankind. GEEZ! Thank goodness for the spell-checker! I almost posted "tomatoe", which would have led down a whole new political discussion. I can't spell to save my life. |

Geesh Blake, Thats almost like talking about a potatoe. Isn't it true that if you removed either all the ants or cockroaches from the world all life would cease to exist? Lets Debate that one over the Politics. By the way - the seals do bite if you get too close. Something that bites me for helpting them are getting a smack in the head, whether I got a club or not. |

Some help for some folks: Pan-A·mer·i·can Of or relating to North, South, and Central America snip* (even though it does include others who admittedly could be terrorist). *snip The above quote in reference to immigration reform dealing with Pan-Americans. snip* You ever seen a talibani in person? *snip The Taliban is a group of people with fundamental Islamic principles and ideologies not a race of people with specific origin. And, yes, I have seen Iraqis, Iranians and others of Middle Eastern decent. I have the utmost regard and respect for all American veterans. However, being a veteran doesn't automatically make one politically savvy. Sometimes, perhaps, it has the opposite effect. We're not fighting a war in the Middle East to keep Pan-Americans from crossing our borders. I'm pretty sure of that. Here's where I get off the bus: Clubbing seals, bad and unfair resource management (cutting timber) and the Taliban are not what immigration reform is about. And as some have pointed out many terrorist are in this country quite legally. So, rant on, my brothers, rant on. Steve-O |

most of the 9-11 attackers were ILLEGAL. They didn't swim the river. But they were illegal. One of them even got a speeding ticket and was NOT taken in. Soon enough there will be alot of pissed of young muslims -- the ones that we killed there dads, brothers and other family members. The southern open border would be very easy to cross. Very easy to fly from middle east to mexico city. Buy guns or bombs. Rent car. Drive to border. Cross over. Then attack. If they were smart and tried to look hispanic they would not draw any attention.. Untill you hear the rat-tat tat at your kids school house. We've allready had one muslim in NC drive his car on campus to kill Americans. Were just lucky he was too stupid to use a gun or bomb. Next time we might not be so lucky. |

No way,, never would the terrorist be that smart...Only panamericans come form down there...Heck they wouldnt even plan out attacking the world trade center with 2 fully fueled Passenger jets either. You attack any enemy at his weakness never his strong point. Borders are our weak point its just a matter of time. Perhaps some of us have lost all of our political savvyness for being veterans. Nope its called reality. Perhaps some of us(you) havent been there or done that either. Actually being involved and seeing it first hand might make you lose you political savvyness so keep that in mind, noone would want you to ever loose your coveted "savvyness". Perhaps you should keep on keeping it safe. I guess noone answering my original question means noone has an opinion on it. |

If so why our are politicians even considering allowing MILLIONS of people we DONT have a CLUE who they are, amnesty? Why? Becuase middle class Americans are not all registared to vote. When they are registired to vote they don't allways take the time to actually vote. ANd they for sure don't vote educated. They allow the mass media 30 seconds new bites to form an opinion. Untill we vote-- the politicians will do what ever it takes to stay in office. |

Enough. Folks commencing to slinging hateful partisan political crap will kill a thread everytime. I promise. And because I was compelled to intercede, I get the last word: None of our politicians - well excluding a few of the most extreme far lefties - virtually none of our politicians are considering what amounts to "amnesty". What our elected representatives are considering as I understand it is the best way to hold millions of illegal immigrants accountable, to impose upon them appropriate fines and back taxes, while compelling them to learn English and become full legal American citizens. That ain't amnesty. Amnesty is a pure unconditional pardon. That is not on the table in congress as far as I know. Honesty counts. (Message edited by blake on April 11, 2006) |
