Reading many of the posts on this site, I would be surprised if someone from Buell or BRAG does not read this. I am hoping for an official reply as contacting Buell by phone from Australia is prohibative $ wise. I have been trying to get a Buell community started here in Sydney with little success through an MSN group and talking to other Buell owners, all of whom are keen to join/participate in a Buell club or group. On purchase of my pride and joy, I was very much looking forward to rides, social events with other Buell owners. Unfortunatly this fell flat when I discovered that brag does not exist here. Why? I don't know. Here we ride all year round and HOGG is very active. I really can't see any reason why BRAG didn't make down under. Recent visits to the Buell web site I see that Australia is no longer a choice on the globe map. USA, Europe and Japan are still there, but Australia has been left out or removed. So here it is. Mr Buell, can we have BRAG? or at least a good reason as to why we should not feel left out. | ||

This might be a DIY (Do it Yourself) If you can get a group of Buell owners to meet on a regular basis and do events as a group I don't see why they will not help you if you ask for it. The other way would be to start inside the HOG chapter, then spin it off into a separate group when you have enough people. At least at the beginning you will be part of the larger group, get a feel for the way they do things and use that to run your smaller club, but with more Buell Specific features. MAGDAZ,we took it on ourselves to set up a Buell enthusiast group in the SF Bay Area and it has been flourishing for 5 years now.No single BRAG chapter would do as we come from such a wide area.I think we have at least 5 dealers represented.We regularly get Buell zone managers and HD big wigs visiting.Leslie Prevish from BRAG has been to several meetings as well.ASBN night can have 50 or more bikes parked out front of the pizza place where we now meet monthly.Start your own and then you have complete control over it.No dues,no rules,ride and do what you want.Heck,this board started from a handfull of Buell nuts and a small group/club called PACBOG. | ||

We don't have a "BRAG" chapter here either, but there are at least 5 of us that show up every thursday night, with more attending every week it seems. The only rules we have are have fun, and ride safe. It's kind of neat because we are not governed by anyone, and like firemanjim's pack of hooligans, we just do what we want when we want to...just bring enough money for gas and food, hehehe  Frank | ||

Look under the Storm Fronts section here, a sub-section was started some time back for Australia. Looks like it's gone now, but you can feel free to start a new topic there. Paul in Oz is down in Adelade (sp?) and seems well tuned in to what's happening Buellwise and has even rode/followed Erik on some rides down there in Australia. | ||

You need a sponsoring dealer to start a BRAG or a HOG Chapter. Here in Newfoundland there is no Buell Dealer so early on I was allowed to join the Easter Newfoundland HOG Chapter. I am also one of the only two Buells on the island. Since I joined HOG I am now the Director of the HOG Chapter. With respect to the membership BRAG is now accepted into HOG and HOG is accepted into BRAG with all the same privilages. What you should do is get a bunch of Buell Guy/Gal Riders together then approach a dealer to sponsor your group. Good Luck | ||

AUSTRALIAN BUELLS There is an active and enthusiastic Buell community in Australia. Two of our own, Paul (PaulinOz) and Ross (Pilot)are frequent posters here. I'll see if we can scare one of them up and see what's happening on the local scene. Welcome aboard ! Court | ||

Here in Canada its the same group, HOG Canada also look after the BRAG for Canada as well. They may be able to help (HOG Australia that is). Good Luck. | ||

Thanx Newfie. Contacted HOG and they seem happy to help out even though they called em Muells. Things are rolling along very well. The Harley road show is here in Sydney next month where promotion of the idea will be spread by the faithfull minority. |
