What gives Buell? Why does Europe get a two year warranty on the new Firebolt or the New Lightning but not the US? We get the same old one year warranty! |

You are probably right about that one! It's still puzzling, did they think that people here in the US would not find out about this? What makes European XB's need a two year warranty and the US XB's only need one? Rain? Salt? Not as many dealers? Owners riding them at 7500 rpm all the time? |

You are probably right about that one! True It's still puzzling, did they think that people here in the US would not find out about this? Untrue What makes European XB's need a two year warranty and the US XB's only need one? Phase in of program and admin Rain? Salt? Not as many dealers? Owners riding them at 7500 rpm all the time? Untrue Yes we use our bikes a bit harder True, but maintain them better. it takes month waiting for parts IF they brake so when need the extra time..... Question: is that your most recent parts "wait time"? I am under the impression that it's improved significantly. If you are waiting a month, I'd sure like to know the details - part ordered, day ordered, dealer, when recieved, etc... Court |

Geez, what does it matter: 1 or 2 years? What faults do you expect in the second year? Right: Nothing ! It is a very good sales argument and it will cost the factory next to nothing. Of course we got it: We asked 5 years. Hans |

had to wait 4weeks for a simple thing like a oil filter(for my first service) then the mechanics fuxxed up good so i lost the Rear pinch fastener, 3 bolts in my chin fairing because they didn't use the specified tourqe and loctite. i almost black mailed them to get the required parts from a Bolt in the store because of their mistake (i didn't want to wait another 4weeks)..... shop web www.harley-davidson.se/stockholm/ (harley-davidson house) |

On the other hand, the Lightning is going to cost £7345 in Jolly Ol’ England when it’s released next March. At today’s exchange rate that would be $11,485 USD and I just know you could buy an extended warranty for less than $1,490.00. |

Court; Seen as You guys don't relate to the anonymous thing, I'll make myself known then, in hope I'll get an answer. -and You probably having moderator rights, as well as the fun of stirring up the hen-house every now-and-then- It's the Dutch contingency. Now about that pinion gear; The reason I questioned You about it is as follows: The last year I've been spending so much time and effort making the x1 run as it should, with dealer problems, bike breaking down on me, money invested, time not ridden, -as a true Elve- that I begin to think of the Buell as a bad relationship. She keeps putting You down, and You keep wondering if this is what You need. The thought of a possible pinion-gear malfunction makes me wonder why Buell won't make this a recall? Obviously it has caused a lot of misery with Buell-owners the world over. Costing all those guys a lot of their well-earned wages in the process. Just can't relate to that. -no pun intended here, Court, I value Your goodwill and friendship A LOT- Jilles-Sicco. -the bike is used as a means of transport, You see- |
