I know there are a few of you guys out there. Just wondering how many. After hanging out at the BORG, I wanted to see how many people are Absolutely thrilled with there Buell. I love mine a few problems yeah but nothing I didn't expect from pushing her so hard. Many of you are familiare with Dyna's plight. So proud Buell owners where are you at?

My M2 makes me smile every time I ride it

Yee haw, 3 years 6months 42,000miles. 99 S3T.
Track school, drag races, dyno runs, commuting to work, playing with friends (all over the country), been to: Deals Gap, Loveland Pass, Mt Evans, Sturgis, the Ozarks, through a total of 14 states and once rode 964 miles in 14.5hours 2-up.
Hope I have as much fun with the 98S1WL I just added to the garage.
The hard question is which Buell to add next.

I'm happy!

Had the rockerbox leak (fixed under warranty) and the shock replaced ($100 reaming) on my 00 M2. I have a pretty noisy gearbox and everything that was glued to the bike has fallen off - bump stops and all the reflectors. 16,000 miles so far - no real problems.

I love this bike.

i enjoy the heck out of my 97 s1. no real problems to date, not highly modified, and i'm not real fast. don't hit the rev limiter near as often as when i first got her. keep on buellin, but they are going to need to come up with something better than what they offer now.

I guess I make #6 here. Other than a few problems (rear rockerbox leak, speedo cable less than 100 miles, rear shock (twice), bubbled tank) I love mine.

DJ...They fixed your rockerbox under warranty? How did you get that to happen?

Very happy Bueller here! And I know at least 20 more happy dutch Buell pilots. Yes we have 'issues' but we forgive and forget once our beloved wheels are back on the road. Two of my Buell friends have had horrible experiences with Buells that just kept on breaking down. But even they can't break away from the brand and the lifestyle.

I have a 2000 M2. Had a rocker leak, bad speedo sensor, and that's about it. All issues fixed under warranty with no headaches.

LOVE MY BIKE.....there is no other bike that makes me smile every time I ride it the way the M2 does.

My Dad has the exact same bike. Loves his as well.

Hmm, the question posed is a difficult one. 2000 M2, with my experiences mirroring many. Rocker box leaks, primary cover leaks, oil lines vibrating loose, bike doesn't run for s**t stock (carb jetting). Harley dealers (preparing myself for extensive flak) are largely morons. I have never felt LESS welcome in an establishment looking to take my money. On the other hand, IF you like to work on bikes yourself, they're a pleasure. Harley engines may not have Honda-like out-of-the-box reliability, but they can be rebuilt as often as you like from the extensive aftermarket. Also, a 5-year old CBR is just an outdated sportbike, but S1's are still where its at, years later. And, from recent experience, I've NEVER had someone from Kawahondazukimaha call me on the phone to offer advice on setting the bike up for racing. As an engineer, I can understand Erik's want to get high power from an "obselete" motor; its a challenge to kick into the face of the DOHC 4-v crowd. At the same time, though, a DOHC 60-deg 750 motor in the firebolt chassis would be a SWEET bike. JMHO, Ben

Extremely happy Buell owner here. 01 Blast and 95 S2, rockerbox leak on the Blast, warranteed, and just put 3600 miles on the S2 in 7 days, part of that included bouncing off the rev limiter through the mountains surrounding Berthoud, CO and a dozen or so dyno pulls, without a hitch.
The Blast has been dirt-tracked and pounded on without a single problem.

You bet I am!! If you can't stand a little wrenching, you should stick to cars & trucks!!

The dealer experience and service is the worst thing about it. This is something the factory has little control over.

Save your money and the pain... Oil changes are easy, trany service could be easier, but I still do it.

I sorted mine out last winter and have never been happier!!

Jeff

00 M2 with two minors in 20,000 miles and not easy ones at that. Rocker box leak and toasted battery, both taken care of under warranty.

Was so happy with it till it was stolen I replaced it with a 97 S1.

Firebolt here with 2500 mile on. I left the Harley fold to come to Buell. Slight mishap with the side stand but other than that, I'm extremely satisfied and impressed with the bike. Havent really had any bad experiences with dealerships yet (knock on wood). Bike gets better with every mile I put on it. Still waiting for aftermarket pipe though. So yeah, count me in with the happy owners!

I bought my '99 Cyclone used in August of '01. 15k miles later I'm thrilled with this bike. Clearly the best bike I've ever owned and it really made me take a different approach to my riding. I like working on my vehicles, so the maintenance has never bothered me, but I guess I have worked on it a fair amount. That being said, I fix things that aren't broken. Overall it's been an awesome experience and I don't plan on selling the bike anytime soon.

spiderman: Buell spoken here. I am curently riding an S3,98. I previously had a 96 S1. I put 19,000 on it with no troubles ever. The S3 was used also with 4,000 on the clock when i got it. After I corrected the previous owners dumb azz tinkerings it to was great. I had the kick stand switch go out in the drive. No bigg deal to me. I do my own maintance. It has 45,000on the clock. I did make the motor an 88". Just for the fun of it. I did have the crank shaft seal go last summer after I missed a shift at the drag strip. That was an easy fix. Hey, you guys don't kid your self. The other makes have there problems to. They just don't get the press. Try power wheeling a TLR Suzkie. Do that a few times and you'll be replacing the clutch shaft seal. The bike handles like a pig. The Buell handles close to a Duck In my mind. My son had one. Still like mine. Often times the problems I have seen are poor owner, or DEALER service.

Extremely impressed with my firebolt!! The more I ride it the better it gets. To put it this way, the bike is more capable than I am. I am very happy with the quality control (well built). Even though people say it is slow it is still faster than previous buells. You just have to keep the rpms up high. It is amazing that we get a warranty with a sportster engine that revs to 7500 rpm. The Bike gets killer looks from people. The only complaint is it still could use some more power.

Can`t set one foot outside or my M2 starts winking from under the carport: "Take me for a ride." That feature never, ever, failed.

I've had it with my Buell. It has taken over my life. I spend too much time riding my '97 M2 and blathering about it in this forum. I'm gonna give Erik a real talkin to if I ever see him again! How dare he create such an addictive motorcycle! There oughta be a law!

My 97S3T now has just under 60,000 miles on the clock. The most annoying problem I had was the exhaust breakage in the beginning. I think I now have that under control with 40,000 on the existing exhaust system. At 50,000 miles I decided to go to a 88in engine. That induced a few problems but all is fine now. I just got back from a 2600 mile ride down to Deals gap and back. I hope to put another 60,000 miles on the "Beast".

I am unhappy with the fact that H/D has decided to go another direction with their bikes. Its too bad Buell did not have the resources to stay out of the H/D grasp. Buell knew what to build for my market. H/D has no idea.
