I have a Jagg oil cooler that until recently kept covered in cool weather and took the cover off when the weather got hot. I just received a Jagg by-pass valve that I thought was a thermostat, which it's not. How does this thing work. Do you open the valve part way or all the way, or do I just go back to my old method ??

Tomfrey,
Lockhart makes an automatic thermostat. $66 black, $76 chrome. I would open the valve all the way. I don't know the internals of the valve, but opening it part way might restrict oil flow.
