I for one will write him, because without us "Idiots" no one would go there. There's nothing there other than that road. Ask the Hotel, restaurant, cabin and local business owners who's welcomed. BTW if ya look thru the pics for Friday sportbikes, there are some really nice ones of us all. | ||

man's due his opinion, and, truth to tell, I dunno how I'd feel about living somewhere that drew some of the chuckleheads I've seen at the Gap -- not all the riders there are idiots, but the concentration IS a bit high, from what I've seen whataminit, I think I DO know ;-} anyways, it's a shame all the way round, yes? | ||

You are right Bomber, but isn't he doing what the reporter did. Taking it upon himself to speak for others? I'm sure the traffic and stupid riders get on peoples nerves, but people oiling the road? That's attempted murder in my book. Had they found the people responsible, it would have been murder one.....against me!! No, I'm not saying the writer of the letter did it. One thing I do know for sure is that LLEO's don't patrol that road as much as we are lead to believe. If they really wanted to calm the area down, they'd be there a lot more often. Rocketsprink -- yer right, he IS apparently speaking for others -- and he's just as misguided for doing so -- a few years ago they DID bust some idjits oilin the road -- turns out they were hunters, and the sept arrival of bear season and the BRAG national deal (and other assorted riders) coincided exactly -- I"m bettin the letter writer isn't an oiler -- that would take some seriously flawed logic, I'm thinkin yer also right that there is not a great LEO presence on the raod, specailly during the week - of course, being part of a very economically depressed area may have something to do with that -- just think, we keep droppin bux down there, they can afford to hire more patrolmen -- I LOVE irony, don't you? | ||

So that WAS you I saw at the Gap on Friday. You were there with another Lightning, and Firebolt (white) rider? I was the one on the only blue/orange Firebolt (black riding jacket/pants with, yep, RED helmet  ). I pulled up with a co-worker (who lives in Knoxville) riding an HD RK. Let me be the first to say I am glad I did NOT make the front page of Killboy! Hey, look at THIS idiot...this is an example of what NOT to do!  I enjoyed the road, but man, the cliquish atmosphere was really thick. And knowing the Killboy peeps were out there ready to take snapshots of the good and bad was really...intimidating (at least to this first timer). Anyway, props to your excellent-looking form in your Killboy pics. It is always good to see the Buell XBs represented at the Gap! | ||

gap tip -- weekdays are MUCH less crowded, and the lack of pro-fotogs has the predictable lack of affect on some of the riders -- course, there are more log truck on weekdays, but, what the hey, they live there, yes? | ||

Fred, I think we did see you too. I hope you didn't think we were being snobby. Man, we couldn't get enough Buell people there! We plan on doing this again next year. Keep an eye on this site for updates. Most likely in June next year. PLEASE if anyone is interested, come along! | ||

Killboy only likes the xb12s black and gold color scheme (that's why Rocketsprink has been there twice), so unless you are really something special I wouldn't get my hopes up. I think the only pics taken were by fellow Badwebbers, "with the group". They will most likely get posted in the "Storm Fronts" when Rocco gets around to starting a thread about the trip.
