OK how many of you noticed the Dirt Roads on the Own All the Corners teaser. Can you say Dualsport - Motosport? http://www.buell.com/en_us/index_teaser.asp |

A question was asked to Erik at dinner on Friday. "How do the new belts do in the dirt?" His reply: "Better than the last!" Gotta be a dual sport. Also a possible touring bike based on the XB frame. Larger for you bigger individuals!! Room for bags. |

His reply: "Better than the last!" That is the closest thing to an admission I have ever heard from him. He has to be so on top of the world happy/proud. To not be able to say anything... Has to be near as much torture as is waiting is for us. |

I think as has been Buell tradition, it'll be a little bike first before they make a big 'un. |

I would rather see a bigger tuber style M2 variation than an off road/dual sport bike. I realize the Buell people need to move the Blasts. I would buy a Harley V-Rod/Cyclone hybrid. Its gotta be light-with water cooling and good ground clearance. I don't care about dirt roads. And I can manage touring on an M2. Tic Toc |

I still believe the OTHER bike (the one that no ones talking about) will be a full faired monster. Remember during the Daytona 200 some people were bemoaning Buells lack of presence (myself included). Insiders kept saying that next year will be huge for Buell racing in the AMA. |

Speaking of full faired monsters...I saw a V-Rod last week with FL-style touring bodywork and hard bags. |

"I still believe the OTHER bike (the one that no ones talking about) will be a full faired monster." I believe that too... I think the early leaking of the discovery (if that's the name) is really meant to throw us off the track for the other bike. I still can't see Buell doing a sport tourer when Harley should really be the one to do that... Just MO though... |

Both bikes are going to be great. Seen them both can't wait to see them in person. |

I saw another Bueller brake slid his bike into the BRAG parking at Laguna Seca and being a motocrosser I though it would be a good time to try it on the xb12r. Hell it was easier to control than the YZ400F on a brake slide anyway. I ended up doing slides at every turn in the parking area, including some powerslides. Heh, heh-got a little carried away though-my riding buddy said one guy practically jumped out of the way because he didn't get it that the slides were intentional. That said though, no Buell is going to be good off-road on anything more than a dirt road. Too heavy, too short, and wrong geometry. Great for flat-tracking it though! It would be cool to have an xr type flat-tracker replica, and I know Blast based (with a specialty frame) flat-trackers have been successful in racing. It would seem clear on what the direction is with that teaser though. I for one, hope they do something on the xb side like some performance updates.... |
