That's right guys and gals! New owners of the former HD/Buell Cycle Center, now Silver Eagle Harley Davidson/Buell were not happy with the number of participants at the last one (their first one) early this spring and I fear they may/will pull the plug after this one scheduled for August 14th. Doug, Craig, Jeremy and myself are working hard to drum up more support for the ONLY BattleTrax event in the state!! Jeremy, our Battle Master puts together the longest courses you'll probably ever see. The last one was close to if not longer than 1/2 mile in length with plenty of challenges but open enough for big cruisers to get around. The gates open at 8:00, $5.00 entry fee and the track goes green for practice at 9:00, an additional charge of $5.00 to participate on the course. Competition starts at 12:00. We do not do the bracket racing format though, whoever is the fastest in the many different classes wins. Since I don't work for the dealership I don't know what the prizes will be this time but they usually have been gift certificates. So this is my appeal!! If you can make it we'd love to have you! I've secured a block of rooms at the Heartland Inn - Grayhound Park which is right on Hwy. 63 just off US Hwy 20 and within eyesight of the BattleTrax event. Here's the deal, the room rate is 80.63 total for up to four people in a room. They offer a full breakfast, have an indoor pool and a hot tub. The number to call is 800-334-3277 and ask for group code BTTK. The cutoff is July 30th so don't wait too long. I don't care what you bring to ride but the more Buells the better so the new owners can see there really are Buell enthusiasts out there. If you have any other questions you can contact me, Ralph at 319-234-8976 or Craig at the dealership, 1-800-3harley. |

Waterloo has the best BattleTrax in the country. It is worth the trip! Jeremy does a great job laying out the course in a HUGE parking lot. |

Inked on the calendar. Should I reserve a room for a post party or is just going to be a day event? Do you guys have flyers made up for it? I can spread a few around here if you'd like, I can probably rustle up a few guys/gals to come along. Have Craig email a copy to me. Alex |
