Rob, I've not had the honor of meeting you. I have been following this thread for few days now trying to think of something to say, only to realize that no words can adequately describe how I feel. I can't add anything more than what's already been said by so many on this thread. For what comfort it may bring, rest assured that you will be remembered well by many for a very long time. This world is sorely lacking people with the kind of courage you've been displaying! Keep up the fight and Godspeed on your journeys wherever they may take you brother! CM

Rob, Words can't express how your post makes me feel. You are one of the bravest individuals I've ever encountered. I hope the vision in your eye improves enough for yet another ride. If not, I'll ride one for you. You and yours are in my prayers and will remain so. If there's anything you need, say so. Godspeed, and hang tough. Please keep us posted as much as you can. We're here for ya, bro! |

Not to sound down or such. Steph/Lori/Tina, Could/would you let me know the final details and such. As I would like to stop by and pay my respects the next time I retreat north. Rob, I am sure many of us will take a ride into the sunset for you. As for me I will take in the sunrise on top of Mt.Magazine. This just aint supposed to happen this early in life. Too many friends have gone before me. Bryan (Loki) s1loki(at)comcast(dot)net (Message edited by loki on May 24, 2005) |

Stephanie, thank you for checking in and giving us an update on Rob's condition. it is comforting to know that he is surrounded by people he cares about, and who care about him. it is also comforting to know that he is receiving something positive from these posts. it's so hard to know what to say at a time like this, but i know from having suffered the tragic loss of my sister awhile back that just knowing that people care can make all the difference in the world. now then, i need to ask a favor. for the past two years, during the annual Oktoberfast ride, i have asked the participants to donate money during the event, not for the cost of putting on the event, but to be donated to a worthy Buell-related cause. the people who have attended the past two Oktoberfast's have been GREAT, and we were able both years to make a small but positive difference in the lives (and memory) of three Buellers here on BADWEB. i've made the choice where the $$ goes each year, and each time have made the decision just before or after the event. this year i'm changing the rules a bit, and will ask the folks to dig even deeper as i want the money to go to Rob. i imagine there are significant expenses involved with his illness, and altho i can't promise the moon, i can at least promise several hundred dollars, possibly more. i understand that it can be hard to accept charity, but this is NOT charity. the participants know up front that the money we collect will go to a Bueller in need, and that isn't charity, it's friendship, love, compassion and camaraderie. having said all that, if Rob is uncomfortable earmarking the $$ to go to "him", per se, then please ask him if he has a special interest, person, or organization that we can donate the money to, in his name. come October i will be asking the participants of Oktoberfast to look into their hearts and dig deep, and i know that we all will benefit greatly from making a small difference in the life of someone close to us, someone none of us have even met. Stephanie, if you click on my name in the left-hand column it'll take you to my profile, and down at the bottom of the page there's a link where you can send me a Private Message -- it's simply just an easy way to e-mail me. PLEASE tell Rob we are thinking of him, and PLEASE, while there's still time, ask him about what i've talked about above. it'd mean the world to all the brothers and sisters of the wind who are involved. Rob, hang in there buddy -- you've got a lot of friends out here, and we're all in this with you. thank you Stephanie and Lori and Tina, for being you. ride to lean, ride in peace, Ferris and Denise |

Rob/Stephanie, Was just about to toss on my gear and take a ride along the river at dusk and saw this. It's great that he's surrounded by those who care about him. He's headed to a place where there is no pain, a fresh new body, and surrounded by gorgeous roads and the thoughts of those who love and care about him. Many of you know that I took a very emotional trip last summer for my friend who was diagnosed with cancer, and I've now got tears sin my eyes now. Rob, Tonight's ride will be extra long, I'll be praying for you and your loved ones. Alex (Message edited by awprior on May 24, 2005) |

Rob, My name is Jeff and I am new to this site. I am writing to you from Arizona. Even though I do not know you I felt I needed to write to you. I have read the messages that you have written to others and that others have written to you as seen above. I am inspired by you and the friendship that you share with others. It sounds like you have some very caring people sharing time with you right now. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Based on what I have read you are a man of faith. I am so glad. I probably wont have the opportunity to meet you on this earth, however I look forward to meeting you in a much better place someday. Rob, may the Lord bless you and your family in this difficult time, and may you rejoice in his glory at what is to come. (Message edited by Father on May 25, 2005) |

Rob I have been following this closely as I lost my best friend very much the same way about 8 years ago. I spent lots of time with him towards the end. At times it was hard for me as I knew what was to come and how I would miss him. He told me that he would live on so long as I remembered him and carried him on my sholder. To this day I do. He was right. Please say hi to Butch for me. I've never met you but I think I'm going to carry you on my sholder every time I ride so you will still be around. Maybe even put "Team Rob" on the bike so when people ask what it is I can say that it's a friend I ride with. Thanks Sandy |

Hi, This is Lori, I just wanted to write and say that Rob passed away last night in his sleep. Stephanie has been taking it hard for the last couple of days. Trying to disbelieve what was truly happening lately. I knew that Rob would have liked you all to stay informed. He will be missed by a lot of people. Thank you for the Prayers and Support. Lori |
