I have a XB12s right now and I love the bike. But for two up riding shes not so hot. I was thinking of adding the street rod as a big brother to my Buell. Also to use as a sport tourer for long rides and still have some fun when I get where I'm going. I know there are better sts out there but I like HD. The more I look at the street rod the more I like it, except those big pipes. Those can be replaced though. Any of you guys have any thoughts on this bike? Thx Art |

I rode one all day for work and I loved it. The heel rest on the exhaust pipe takes time to get used to. The riding position felt like the X1. Before you buy, take the time to ride one. |

I dig the Street Rod. Bigger tank (and range) than the original VROD's, and more cojones than a stock Road King. I would want forward controls on one. |

I demod one at Bike Week. If Buell doesn't come out with something good (for me) for '06 I am probably going to get one. Lots of power (at higher revs), seating position feels similar to my X1, should look good after some mods (exhaust, seat, rear fender). Frank |

Art, the reviews I've seen don't have much good to say about the passenger accomodations. They did move the passenger pegs off the swing arm and onto extensions off the frame which is good, but the stock seat passenger area is pretty poor. I don't know if there is an aftermarket seat for it yet, but that would probably be a massive improvement. |

I've had my street rod for two weeks now. The passenger seat that comes with it sucks big time. It also needs a back rest. Backrest and touring passenger seat are ordered for mine but haven't come in yet. The seat is a two piece design, passenger pillion is separate. Drivers seat flips up to put gas in. So far the drivers seat is good for me, longest run is only 120 miles at one sitting tho. Bike is so different from stock v-rod that it may be a bit before seats become available. Bike runs really good. Get wrench for rear suspension, they come set up badly from factory and you will want to run pre-load up a couple of click for passenger. Hard to describe bike other than smooth and fast. Handles like an S2 on steroids. Thing I like best is that cross winds don't seem to move it around at all. This is the best bike I've ever owned for handling windy days. Best thing is how the wind blast trys to tear you off the thing by second gear. WooHoo!! (Message edited by MadDuck on May 25, 2005) |

July 6th? "Launch" as in shipping, or as in press release? Guess this rules out next week then. |

Thanks guys!! Anonymous I will wait to see what Buell comes out with before committing to the street rod. Wish we could catch a hint! But man I really like the way HD changed the vrod. They fixed all the things I didn't like about it. Living in New Orleans I gotta say a liquid cooled bike dosen't sound bad. Art Art |

Art, I was thinking of waiting to see what the new Buell was going to be like when I realized it would probably not ship till Sept. when my riding season is over. I'll get one in the spring if they're nice. Only got four bikes now and have room for at least three more since I sold the car. Really thinking of getting another S2 also. One feature I like about the street rod is how it doesn't really like to wheely. Hit the throttle hard and it just accelerates, no rotation can be good (Message edited by MadDuck on May 25, 2005) |
