Erik visited Glendale HD-Buell today. We pestered him with questions, made him listen to a few crackpot ideas, then dragged him outside and made him sign stuff. He sure is a patient and tolerant fellow. More pics here: http://homepage.mac.com/tom_pollack/outside2/PhotoAlbum21.html (Message edited by tommy_2stroke on May 14, 2005) |

Thanks Glendale Buell for hosting such a great event. Your Brag group rocks. Erik it was pleasure talking to you. I wish you & B.M.C. the very best. Thanks for the Sling bag. |

Hey! I really dig that M2 sidecar rig! Anyone have any additional info on it? Does the owner post here? I'd love to see more detailed pictures. Brad |

Sorry, no info on the sidecar or its owner. And I only grabbed the one photo just as he was leaving, dad-blast it... |

I was there yesterday AM, went on the first demo ride. Rode a CityX for the first time. That is one fun motorcycle! I still think that Buell should build a larger (physical size, not necessarily engine displacement) touring type bike for those of us who prefer those kind of things. The XB bikes, though phenomenal machines, seem undersized to me. Unfortunately I had to jet off to work and didn't get to see Erik, he arrived just as I was leaving. The wife went there later and got to bug him with the usual barrage of inane questions and photo requests, autographs, etc. The sling bag is totally cool! Thanks BMC! AL |

Unfortunately, we didn't get the chance to swing over there even though both of us really wanted to... |

Re the M2 sidecar rig: It is a Doug Bingham installation from Side strider. Doug is the sidecar guru in SoCal if not the whole US. This is a properly setup rig with leading link forks and heavy duty suspension to match. I've seen it a few times at the annual Griffith Park sidecar meets in October. The owner is a Glendale BRAG member and he shows up from time to time but rarely goes on rides with the group. |

BIG Thanks to Glendale Buell for all they did this weekend. Saturday we had a BBQ and Demo rides with cool sling bags handed out afterward...who could ask for more? And I did get a couple shots of the M2-sidecar (look closely at the front suspension). The grill is fired up! And it didn't take long for people to arrive. This was a cool S1 that rolled up, don't know the guy, but I liked his bike. Looks good with the Airtech tailsection and Metmachex swingarm. Class accents on the tailsection. After the crowd thinned down, Erik helped Ernie get the suspension on his track bike set up as Tim (our BRAG leader) helped, listened and learned. This is Candice (Tim's wife, and the REAL leader of our BRAG group), watching the guys.

Then today we went to Willow Springs for some club level racing. It also marked the start of contingency money (from Buell, COOL thanks) in the class for the top three finishers. Glendale kicked in again today with Rib-eye and Tri-tip steaks for the BBQ (40 lbs worth, WOW). Here is Erik helping the guys get Jim's bike set up. I must say Erik has incredible energy, endurance and patience. And always with a smile. He is a totally cool dude. Here is Matty's M2 race bike. And his Blast engined, S1 framed race bike. This is Sarah and Ernie getting Matty started for the race on his Blast/S1. Matty is amazingly fast on this bike, but unfortunately today he was running with a new head setup and the motor started going south on him midway through the race. It finally quit on the last lap and he literally coasted across the finish line. To which he said "hey, at least I got my point". As usual, I wish I would have taken more pictures, but when ya get caught up in it all, well, the camera gets set down. Oh well. Timbo |

Boy, I need to get a picture of the poor piston from that thing... It was an incredible weekend! There was so much going on in so many places it's difficult to describe. Thanks to every Bueller that made it and those who wish they could! We'll be doing it again next month, so mark your calendars for the third Sunday in June! |

Erik B. helping out with some great setup tips... he should know huh? =) The other S1 framed Blast - yes we now have 2 of them out there! Cool! Timbo, always the master of kindness and restraint, finding it hard not to choke Sarah A melted piston on the Blast and we still coast across the line in third place. We're looking forward to next month - a new piston and head combo that we'll actually have time to test! We have some more photos to post, coming soon. |
