I was riding one of my usual roads yesterday, and came upon this a side road with a nice twist to it. I had never taken the side road before because it has a dead end sign at the entrance. But yesterday I took it anyway. Its 3 miles long! And twisty! I'm really excited by the time I get close to the end. Then I notice that there is gravel in the last corner, so I slow down as I ride through it. About 50 yards after that the road turns to dirt, so I stop and turn around to ride back out. I have to go through the gravel turn again, so I'm being very careful to hold a straight line and not go too fast. I'm half way through the gravel when I notice that the crack in the road I am headed for is really a snake. Visions of launching the snake into the air and having it land on me are going through my head, but I'm not about to swerve in gravel. I don't even know if I hit him, but every thing was fine in the end. It was in interesting moment though. |

Yea, it had a lot more downside potential for him than it did for me. |

I took a bird to the helmet yesterday. His wing is what hit me, but I think the second hit to the ground killed him. |
