That link seems to be bad. I found the story here: <http://www.denverpost.com/Stories/0,1413,36~53~2822246,00.html> It's too bad that town might suffer, but the laws do need to change. |

They made that mistake when they didn't prosecute the kid for that. From what I get they're begging them to go to this, but at the same time saying they won't protect them if this happens again. Talk about spitting in your face. They screwed themselves on this one. I do agree, it's sad that the town will suffer for this, but what other way can you bring attention to these problems without hitting their pocket books. So, was he not prosecuted because he was 15 or because he was the son of a public official? Would love to know the details behind it. |

quote:"The system has failed to a certain extent," he said, admitting that the two surviving women as well as other witnesses were never interviewed and that blood samples on a second car were never analyzed.
Some tried to organize a boycott of Sturgis last year as well due to a different "accident". |

It sickens me that 2 people were killed by a reckless teen... not to mention it seems that he was trying to play chicken... WTF? Just cause someone is on a motorcycle doesn't wave their right to live...or at least i hope not. Sorry had to say my peace |

Better yet: How about if everybody that was going to the rally just stays at home and mails a couple of hundred $$ to the local Chamber Of Commerce. This town isn't pleading for bikers, they're pleading for money. Paulson sez: "It's too bad that town might suffer, but the laws do need to change." and he's right of course. The first thing that will have to change is the attitude of the people who elect officials that protect the car drivers (a majority) who kill motorcyclists (a minority). Call me a Liberial, but I really do believe in equal rights for minorities. Ah, that would be us in this case. F**k the town |
