you got three years on the stock battery, and you want to replace it with something else? i would consider using the OEM replacement. price is right, they fit right, and work very well.

My OEM battery failed after 1500miles and my brothers went at around 6000miles.

Mine went after a month of owning my bike and my brothers went after 8 months of owning his.

OEM BATTERIES SUCK!!!!

anyone have an X1 w/ an oydessy? i am curious to know if the terminal mounts work or if you need an adaptor? I was looking on the website and it looks like the terminals are on the top of the battery when the X-1's have the terminals on the front side of the battery... and i am not sure if my bikes cables will stretch that far to reach the top of the battery...... know what i mean? So if anyone here uses an Oydessy and has an X-1 let me know

The battery isn't as tall, so the cables fit OK standing vertically. I ran the positive out from under the tray and added a rubber covering (meant for underground cable splices) because it was rubbing the insulation through (with the OEM battery).

The OEM battery in my S3 is the longest lasting battery I've ever had. In ANY vehicle. Installed in october of 99, it still is working just fine in my S3. I've always thought that if I can get more than 2 years out of a motorcycle battery, I'm doing good.

The Odyssey battery in my S1W is holding up fine as well.

I'm still running the stock battery in my 2000 M2. It's starting to get weak if I don't ride constantly, but I want to see if I can get a full 5 years out of it. I'm going OEM if the price is anywhere near right.

well the reason for me wanting the oydessy is my father in law installed an S&S 101" motor in his Electra Glide and he killed his stock batter (HD) and he got the oydessy and not one single problem. When i went searching for a new battery for my X-1, i found that the oydessy is only like 10-15 bucks more, depending on where ya go. so i figure i would go with that.

Thanks 99X1, I appriciate the pics.. now all i will need is a battery cover, White w/ Orange doesn't go well at all. lol

Actually the Odyssey is a really bright red not orange. It takes the right color bike to go well.

An Odyssey in my S1 lasted one year. I currently run an OEM V-Rod battery. The original OEM battery lasted six years in this bike.
