A friend of mine just got back from 2 weeks in Italy (work-related). I told him to be sure and take a photo of any cool bikes he saw. What's the first bike he sees after getting off the plane? Not a Ducati, or an Aprilia, but.... Pretty cool! |

I'm more surprised about the GMC. |

Hmmm, something funny going on here. In addition to the GMC, why is the steering wheel on the "wrong" side of the red car??? |

Photo was taken on a Navy base on Sicily. Other than that, I don't know any details. |

That's a car manufactured for sale in England. Probably temporarily across the pond. |

It's my impression that there are no Ducati's or Aprilla's in Italy. Or anywhere else in Euroland for that matter. Ten gazillion motor scooters (most of them are made by Aprilla I suppose) but no sportbikes. As far as that goes, I haven's seen any really good bicycles in Italy either. You can't go into a good bicycle shop here in the States without seeing a dozen hand built (read: expensive) Italian framesets hanging from the rafters. I think they are an export only item. What I did see though, was a drop dead gorgeous woman police officer directing traffic in the middle of Milan with a big fat Beretta pistol in a white leather holster on her hip. I know she didn't plan to chase anybody down while wearing a tight skirt and 2" heals, so I figured she must be a crack shot and I didn't even think about Jay Walking. |

My buddy made similar observations about the general appearance of Italian women... |

Sigonella, Sicily is probably where the pic was taken. Those are most likely american serviceman vehicles. The car was probably brought down from england or over from japan. The gmc obviously from the states. Sexy italian women are like sexy italian cars, look great, high maintenance, tempermental, but when everything is right, they do what they do GREAT! |

Well I got the 916 and the Maserati and I'd agree, but there's few Italian chics I know of in Yorkshire. But hey, the Maserati snaps nicker elastic no matter where the chics come from. Just remember, Earth girls are easy Rocket |

>It's my impression that there are no Ducati's or Aprilla's in Italy. Or anywhere else in Euroland for that matter.> I see both fairly regularly, at a motorcycle hangout called Johaneskreuz, just outside Kaiserslautern, Germany. More Ducatis than Aprilla's though, and more Hondas and Suzuki's than pretty much anything else. Folks sure seem to like their CBRs here.. Kathy |
