Pretty simple, you might need to cut down an allen wrench to reach the bolt on the inside of the intake when bolted up. The ball type allen wrench usually works fine (I installed it on an X1). Take your time with the breathers. The install doesn't take more than an hour or so. Getting the old airbox backing plate off is about 1/2 the job. Good luck |

Just make sure you take a dremel tool and "open up" the vent for the float bowl breather. |

Wrap the aluminum elbow with tape before you install it. The polished surface scratches very easily. |

Be sure not to run it without the K&N, you can suck a squirrel down it and make a hell of a mess. |

buelliedan: i've heard that mentioned before... what is the advantage? i just slapped the forcewinder on my bike and took off... it seems fine, but would it be better if i took a dremel to it? |

Cerbero; If you're running the CV40, absolutely. (See Aaron's post in the KV). If running the Mikuni, it doesn't matter as the bowl vent is in a different spot. |

If you end up with the fuel injected forcewinder instead of the carborator specific one and just bolt it on it is a difference of 11 hp. And I got the dyno sheets to prove it! |

ah... hmmm... i'll have to pull the forcewinder off to see what it looks like. i ordered it directly from force... i told them i had the stock carb so maybe i got one of the older "correct" designs. (or maybe i'm just too dense to notice the drop in power.) thanks for the info! ...c |
