Well, my previous post about filters (mistakenly posted on Quick Board) received a reply to use the M1-103 Mobil 1 filter. Most of the references on BadWeb list the M1-301 filter, which is an FL-1A style filter. Both are very different filters. The M1-103 is half the size, and the filter seal ring is a different diameter. Was M1-103 a typo, or is it correct? I know the FL-1A and equivalents see widespread use on these bikes, but there is a debate in the archives about using FL-1As due to the operating pressure of the bike. What's the final word? I am about to use an M1-301 on my bike. S'Cool? Jason 98 S1W |

I found a new filter application page, that lists and entirely different filter to use: the M1-102. It specifies a lower bypass valve pressure as well. http://motorcycleinfo.calsci.com/FilterXRef.html Jason |
