Does anyone know the length of stock throttle cables for a 99 S3 and how that measurement is figured? I've been trying to fix what the previous owner did. He changed the bars, put on a different throttle tube, removed the start kill switch and used universal throttle cables. I want to install the original start/kill switch and throttle tube set up, the cables I have won't work. I have a Mikuni carb on it so I'm wondering if the stock cables will work or if I'll need longer ones. Measuring from where the cables go into the start switch to where they go into the cable bracket on the carb I get 40". The part numbers I found for the stock cables are N0308.KA and N0307.KA. |

When I changed from original cv carb to mikuni the pull cable is too short on oem cables requiring small spacer at carb. |

I use cable kits from Maximum ordered through Denniskirk. Then can make any length that works. This works well for those going to the Mikuni as well. |

A few years ago I ordered mine direct from Motion Pro. the price was good and they are still working fine. Their website still has them as a direct order, with no measuring or thinking on your part beyond year/make/model.(For me that's the best way to make sure no mistakes are made) |
