when removing header/muffler I was forced to remove the support bracket as the header support had been rigged without a spacer and tightening had pinched everything in, later I looked in the FSM and it mention supporting the engine with a jack, which I had not done. I wonder why this was mentioned and will I need to jack it up to reinsert the bolt? |

Did you get this figured out? It may require the engine to be jacked up, it all depends on what may have moved. |

Well it definitely moved and I know I'm going to have to jack it up right now I'm trying to figure out where to place the jack any ideas would be appreciated |

I put a short piece of 2X4 under the crankcase and put the jack under that. The engine will move quite a bit without moving the bike, but does make it unstable. For situations like this, I use the rebar through the rear axle and resting on jack stands method. Hope this helps, Dave |
