I am attempting to read trouble codes on my 2001 S3T but instead of seeing the codes flashed in 1 second intervals, the trouble light flashes rapidly about 10 times, then repeats. Is my ECM malfunctioning or could there be another reason? |

Not sure if its the same setup as my old (1991) Dodge, but on that system it flashes 2 digit codes, then a "5-5" indicates end of sequence. MAYBE if all you're getting is two tens...that could be the Buell end-of-sequence code? |

If my ECM is damaged, could I fit one from a post-2002 fuel injected Sportster? |

If my ECM is damaged, could I fit one from a post-2002 fuel injected Sportster? I would not count on that working for a tuber. I will try to put the manual page on this up.

the codes are preceeded by 6 rapid flashes, ~ 3 per second a pause ~ 2 sec first digit on and off are 1 second pause ~ 2 sec second digit pause ~2 sec rapid flashes like at start ------- next code or repeat the string of codes will repeat if the lamp flashes faster than normal you are observing intermission only ( no codes ) codes 11 tps throttle position sensor 13 o2 exhaust o2 14 ets engine temp sensor 15 iat intake air temp sensor 16 bat battery voltage 23 ffi front fuel injector 24 fic front ign coil 25 ric rear ign coil 32 rfi rear fuel injector 33 fp fuel pump 35 tac tachometer 44 bas bank angle sensor 52,53,54,55 ecm fail 56 cps cam position sensor (cam sync) it sounds like your ecm is ok and you have other issues un hook the IAT sensor and attempt a start, then check codes (WHILE UNHOOKED) I tested my ecm that way to confirm operation. |

Thanks Jim, The fuel pump is powered up (I can hear i when I turn on the key) but still no spark. I am not getting any trouble codes so I am now looking for a blow fuse or a bad connection. |

I have had some issues with the coil connector try measuring the resistances Try hooking the plug side to plugs and the primary side up to a battery, you should get a spark each disconnect ( switch off ) not sure about the fuel injectors, |

With ECM-Spy you can test fire coils and injectors--- |
