Im having a terrible time removing the snap ring just in front of the main shaft nut on the clutch hub. My snap ring pliers dont have the proper size tips (2mm, too small). Does anyone know what the proper size tip is? Or do you have a better method? |

My normal(Channel Lock) snap ring pliers have tips that are a little thicker. I also have a cheap set of harbor freight snap ring pliers and the tips are way smaller. Might be easiest to spend the few dollars and see if you can pick up a pair of cheap ones that fit. Or are you saying the tips are too small and you need bigger ones? It's been so long since I pulled mine that I can't remember what the ring looks like. One of the 2 pairs I have must've worked though. Do your pliers have removable tips? Maybe you can pull them out and make another set of tips out of nails, put them in a drill and spin them down on a grinder to the exact size you need? |

Thanks for the tips Upthemaiden. I was able to successfully remove the clip. My snap ring pliers had a set of slightly larger tips that enabled me to get a better grab on it, still more difficult than it should have been. Bike is back to life |
