Afternoon. Have a 98 S1W with stock CV Carb...going to install aftermarket air cleaner ("Big Sucker" - simple round design) by Arlen Ness and probably go with a ForceWinder exhaust. Question - anyone know what jet/needle sizes I should install on stock CV carb? Do I need to adjust, or, am I "good" as is. Would rather pull carb out now, before installing everything... Thanks guys. Sean |

Found this in the Knowledge Vault, was from BluzM2--Brad-- Put in a 195 main, a 45 pilot with 2 1/2 turns out on the screw and shim the needle about .040 - .050". Far simpler, far cheaper and just as effective. |

Thanks Jim...appreciate. Do you know (I searched on Knowledge Vault) if that are the changes to the CV carb needed/commonly installed if an aftermarket air cleaner and exhaust is installed? I already purchased the exhaust/cleaner and am going to install...just want to know if I have to pull the carb out before installing air-cleaner and exhaust. Thanks - appreciate. Sean |

I can pull the jets on my S1 without removal of the carb, kind of a pain, I don't know how much time it actually saves. |

CVP deluxe tuners kit, custom jets, 45/195. It includes a new slide spring, slide drill bit, ez adjust mixture knob, bowl screws, velocity emulsion tube, velocity needle, all for about $70. It will run great. I’d suggest doing the brass inlet elbow too. https://cv-performance.com/cvp-harley-carb-deluxe- tuners-kit |

Just wanted to say thanks for the input/words of advice - sincerely appreciate you guys taking the time to reply to my question/request. Going to go with the 195 main + 45 pilot as suggested. She how she runs in the spring. Bye for now. |
