I am contemplating building a Tuber motor for my S3 frame from scratch. IE: Aftermarket cases, cranks, cylinders, trans, etc etc etc. In the works already are as follows: Axtell/Nallins 3 13/16th cylinders/pistons Baker 6speed trans Dyna 2000i ignition XB heads I haven't decided on Carb choices or adapt a FI system. Where I am stumped is in the cases mostly. I know STD offers the Sportstre/Buell cases but lists them as 4speed cases and not 5speed. I wondered if there is anyone else building cases. This whole project idea is based on building a brand new 0 mile engine myself. Suggestions are greatly accepted. The overall goal is an 88" motor with long term reliability in mind. Something that has power and torque but high HP numbers are not the goal. Just solid, reliable brute strength. |

Couldn't make sense of the above links, but I'll guess they both point to 100" S&S motors. Maybe a good choice for what you're after? 4" square, bore and stroke. If it's anything like the 100" S&S shovel I once rode, it'd be a mondo midrange uber-grunter. That thing had so much power down low the first three gears just got in the way. I'm sure it could have pulled away from lights in fourth. |
