Looking for a replacement left saddlebag latch solution. On my 1998 S3T left saddlebag. Years ago I installed the recall latch kit and the left bag latch recently broke. I can open it via the small hole I drilled and use a small screwdriver to pop the latch. Anyone have a way to install a new latch or source for Buell. Saddlebag latch c0371.B left side w/o lock,? Thanks |

Your Part Number is incorrect as it is supposed to be C0471.B for the latch without lock. I have no solution for you on the newer part other than to find a damaged bag on ebay and use the latch from that. However there is one dealer left in the whole wide world that may have the older version of that latch which is 91297-97Y and that is Perry Harley-Davidson in Portage, Michigan and their phone number is (269) 329-3450. Hope this helps. |

I have used parts for the S3T bags if you still need some. |

Yes, I know it’s been some time but I’m still in need of the left side latch. Please contact me at tburns5000@gmail.com |

I have heard people going to machinists to repair the metal part of the latch which breaks off when it fails. I removed my latches after both failed and riveted on little hinged doors secured with commonly keyed cabinet cylinders instead from Home Depot. http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/476 23/866561.html |

I mentioned I had spare S3 saddlebag parts in a previous post. Those parts have now been sold.

Please feel free to copy this picture of the 2001 S3 saddlebag hardware for prosperity’s sake. The only parts missing is the soft luggage security bungee.
