I am sure there is something more high tech than JB. Has anyone done this with long lasting results? (Message edited by victory on November 28, 2020) |

Have used Hondabond for over 20 yrs. on Sportster, Buell and big twins. Yamaha has essentially the same product. Both are fairly easy to remove if you have to disassemble things again. Ran a sportster without base gaskets to up the compression using Honda bond. |

Honda Yama Harley bond all the same and I know them well. While the top end is off I am Torquing the case bolts and looking for something to smear on the outside case. Any ideas? Im after something stronger than the bond. |

Try Valco HV350 sealer, this is a multi purpose sealer that we have had very good results sealing everything from oil leaks to cracked head lamp lenses. Very tough stuff |

3 bond is a gasket maker like yama bond.I need a sealer better and more flexible than some JB weld glue. HV350 is an adhesive flexible epoxy. Looks better than JB Weld |

I can't help too much with a sealer, but one thing I've used on normal gasket surfaces that made life a lot easier was a 3M bristle disc, to clean it up before putting it back together. Not sure exactly what they're made of, feels like a rigid plastic, but they do an awesome job of cleaning off anything that's on there without chewing up the aluminum. They come in different grades like sandpaper. I used the white/tan color(120), I've also seen people online use the yellow(80), I don't know that I'd risk the green(50). You also need the mounting plate that holds it into your drill, but I found one at harbor freight for a couple dollars that came in a kit with some other stuff.
