Hey Buellers, Just picked up an X1 with low miles. It was running strong for a month then one day it died out on me in second gear not even a mile from my house. The bike turns over but doesnt start. Fuel pump primes when I turn the key. Replaced the in-line filter, no difference. Attached a pressure gauge to the tank schrader valve and it read 0psi. Previous owner (also the origInal owner) gave me the shop records of the services he did before selling it to me, he just had the fuel pump replaced with an OEM pump a couple months ago. Any ideas what it could be? Maybe the pressure regulator? Ive got one coming in the mail. Also ordered another pump (walbro 521) but it is on hold so no idea when that will come in. |

Plugged fuel tank vent hose. Pressure regulator. Fuel pump. Ford Mustang fuel pump is the same. |

If your hearing the pump prime when the key is turned on and getting 0 psi on a gauge it's probably the regulator. While your in there check your low level sensor, make sure it's working. |

You will want to replace the low fuel sensor. even its working. You dont want to keep going back into the tank. |

Are the fuel pressure regulator and the injectors also Ford Mustang GT parts? I know the air inlet temp sensor was. |

Update! I finally had time to make the 3 hour journey home and wrench on the bike. Turns out the pump had just removed itself from the sending unit. The shop that replaced the fuel pumped for the previous owner used a zip tie to secure the pump to the unit. Idiots. Bike runs strong as hell now. I did not get around to replacing the PR unfortunately. Hopefully I wont have to any time soon. Hope this helps anyone who may have a similar problem! -also, when reintstalling the fuel rail, be careful about how tight you twist it back on. torque spec is only 6.8-8.4 newton-meters. |
