Regarding Mikuni 42: Has anyone had an issue with the accelerator pump rod sticking in the down position or not returning to the original position after hitting the throttle? Is this normal? Is the spring inside the bowl worn out? Have you found a remedy? Many thanks! |

My remedy. Hit the bowl with the rubber end of a hammer. Fresh gas. Good to go all season.

Never. FWIW, I drain the bowl every off-season to prevent gum and varnish build up. It probably wouldn't hurt for you to hose down the exterior of the carb with Jet Spray Gumout and a toothbrush. Just don't brush your teeth with it afterwards. |

Thanks Kirk! I replaced the little rubber boot and pushed a small amount of anti-seize inside and it functions correctly. Will follow your cleaning instructions in the future. |

And stay away from Methanol (if you can). BTW, why no picture of your S1W in your profile. I wanna see. |

I can’t figure out how to put pictures on here in the right format from my iPhone. Any ideas? |

The forum takes normal .jpg, the usual issue is size. It doesn't like big pictures. I typically just size them down to 25% before posting. Not sure if you can do that on your phone or not. I'm sure there's apps that will do it, but I usually just email them to myself and shrink them on my computer before posting. |
