I saved a numbered X1 and it has the dreaded gas cap problem. I can get it off without prying, but it is difficult. I saw an older thread with a Bueller selling a fix. Anybody know if these are still available or have a spare or know where I can send it out to be repaired?  | ||

I have a spare one from years ago to stop them spinning or you can use the billet replacement part for inside . | ||

In the interim, what I did with mine was to take and Very Carefully file the edge down, all the way around, until it fit again. I stopped filing when it just fit in the tank. | ||

Hi Rich, the kit I have stops the centre part you use to unlock it spinning (the bit with Buell on it. I bought a couple of sets years ago then bought the billet part which replaces the plastic part which swells. Can you find the part Matrim was selling to check. The person that was making these recently stopped and is no longer making them. I believe engineered velocity (redstang) or mc motoworx ( purpony) might be taking over the production | ||

Analbeard if you have that spare upgrade to stop the spinning I'll take it to get me by for now. It dropped to the 70's in florida so the swelling went down, lol, but if I could stop the spinning that would help for a short term fix | ||

Sorry been working away and phone had only half the touch screen working !!Yea that link looks right. The easiest thing would be to use the spare saddle I sent you . Also take your Gas cap o-ring off and check it for cracking , the new one I sent is Nitrile so is okay for gas fumes. Col. | ||
