Thanks! Runs great too. Performed the break-in period oil change recently so now I've really started to push it a little harder. Not a flat spot or hiccup anywhere. It's marvelous really. Especially with the larger rear pulley. Just need to dial the suspension in some. And I think I'm now also starting to see why people change the original swing arm for one off an X1... |

Supposedly the new swingarms are supposed to be stiffer. I haven't personally noticed a huge difference but I just use my bike to commute, so I'm not pushing it as hard as some people do. On the up side, they do look so much better on these bikes.

Nice S1 Greats Memory for me on a 1 hour demo ride. I agree the swing arm on the S1 HD Sportster is a JOKE. The easy alignment of the X1 is light years ahead. |

On the up side, they do look so much better on these bikes. They do, they do. Though for the sake of originality I didn't really mind keeping the stock one - I even sourced a new old stock original swing. Great color btw I agree the swing arm on the S1 HD Sportster is a JOKE. Yeah I am by no means the fastest guy on the road, nor do I want to be, but I think I can hold my own on a nice set of twisties and while it might be in my head, I do think I'm noticing some slight wobbliness that could be traced to the spindly looking stock swing. /edit: still, I have an X1, so I suppose I could just leave it alone and pick that when I'm looking for some more stability. "What mirrors are those?" Not sure if you're asking me or Fallout, but mine are the mirrors from a Ducati Monster. I rarely see mirrors I like but I think these look really good. |

Alright, lol. I see things moved a bit quicker than I had previously imagined they would with regards to the swing arm. March 10 I was still under the impression that I would keep the old one, apparently. Does seem like a lifetime ago though... Anyway, I've since gotten hold of all the stuff I need to replace the stock swing arm with one off an X1. It looked like this when I first got it: It's been sandblasted now to get rid of the paint and dirt and it's heading to the polisher guy next. Anxious to see how it'll come out. After the blasting it already looks much better: I'll post more updates soon hopefully. |

I know it looks dorky, but I really would put that lower pebble guard on if I were you - one good rock can destroy your belt... |

"I know it looks dorky, but I really would put that lower pebble guard on if I were you - one good rock can destroy your belt..." Even if it does look dorky...there are some really nice billet pieces out there that look anything BUT dorky if that's an issue. And I agree; one rock can end up costing a bunch of greenbacks. |

Guards are definitely going on (mine). Off now because of the work that's being done. |

Besides, what looks more dorky; a plastic sprocket guard, or a guy pushing a beltless Buell down the shoulder of the road? |

Not sure about billet but I've these CF bits on my M2 and they look good: https://mdicarbonfiber.com/collections/buell/produ cts/buell-x1-chain-guard https://mdicarbonfiber.com/collections/buell/produ cts/buell-x1-rear-fender-carbon-fiber They had may parts at my house in two weeks.. |

It wasn't the pebbles that got me, but I did push my fair share of Buells down the road :P |

Your bike looks amazing and is an inspiration and motivation for me. I hope mine looks close to as good as yours does. I have the same Supertrapp exhaust, but do not have the brackets. Do you have any detailed pics of what you did to share? |

Mainly how you are attaching the rear of the pipe. I am running a piece of 3/4" wide 1/8" stainless that is about 4" long to attach to one of the stock mounting points to the tab on the muffler. I can pretty much see what you did on the front mount, and I like how you just deleted the stock mounting point. The entire project looks great! |

I’m mainly looking for what’s going on at the rear mount. I saw your trials and tribulations of the front mount and have my own idea on it, but just ditching it and starting over seems like it has its merits too. |

quote:Only thing I'd change is put on an OEM carbon fiber hugger, with the plate mount. I would love that, but alas, a good 99% of those were probably either cut up or destroyed at one point and the remaining 1% is sold at prices that I can't really justify (if they're sold at all).
I may be putting one . . . . brand new, in the box, on eBay next week. Not sure if anyone is still looking |

Very cool. Regrettably, it wouldn't really be an option for me since shipping, taxes and import fees would nearly double the price before it arrives in Europe. Also, I have completed the swing arm swap, so I now use an X1 hugger / mudguard. I'll post some pictures soon. |

Your bike is beautiful and is an inspiration to keep moving forward on my S1. I'm still waiting on the bottom end of the motor to return from Hammer. Upthemaiden has me thinking about having the "brace bar" welded into my frame and repowdercoating it back to the stock gray (aka just like yours). He also has me convinced to swap to the X1 swingarm, and your sandblasted one looks great. I will probably add a matte clear clearcoat over it to keep it from sucking up grease and oil. |
