After I got for a ride I often find a streak of oil running down the swing arm. Any idea where this might be coming from, or why? Thanks. |

What side? Engine oil? Gear lube? Pictures? |

Usually puking out the trans vent above the CDI module. Likely needs a crank seal. |

Thanks, I'll look into that. |

If crank seal there will be too much oil in Primary reservoir & oil coming out primary breather tube. |

Do you have a stock breather, into the air cleaner? Or is it a modified "remote" breather that could be puking? |

You will need a "Sprocket Shaft Seal Installer", as it is the one way to ensure the seal is set centered on the spacer to make a proper seal; http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/384 2/793903.html?1563376089 I had mine 3D printed, the longer version, by one of the folks found on the web page via the; "Order this printed" button on; http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1784320 |

I believe I replaced that a few years ago. Without the tool so maybe it's in too deep and has worn. Thanks for all the info. I'll have to see if I can get one ordered, the printing thing looks good if I can figure out how to use it, so far no luck. |

Once you click; "Order this printed", select one of the "apps", which is a group of people who have printers, to do the printing, create an account, and pay. |

Thanks. What material did you have it printed in? |

Orange plastic. Sorry, do not remember what kind of plastic. Thankfully it takes little force to seat the seal. |

The vast majority of 3D printed items on hobby/home printers would be PLA or ABS, but there are other materials used sometimes too. |

I use a 1-1/4” pvc coupling. Seat it about a credit card thickness below the case. No I’ll effects on 4 installs so far. |

It is not about clearance to the case! This seal has two sealing surfaces against the spacer. The seal must be centered on the spacer. Yes, at least one of these surfaces is sealing but what about the other? Is your motor using only one of the sealing surfaces as the other is not sealing against the spacer at all? On one of my motors, the seal is about a credit card space away from the case. On another the seal is flush with the case. So please do not measure to the case. The tool measures to the spacer to ensure both surfaces are sealing to the spacer. The 3D printed tool should cost less than $10. (Message edited by 89rs1200 on July 18, 2019) |

Well it's not the trans vent, it's bone dry,and oil level in primary is spot on. So checking other things. I'm wondering about starter or wiring that goes into inner primary. Cleaned everything up so maybe can find it now. (Message edited by johnod on July 18, 2019) |

I found a crack in a weld on my oil tank, it would open and seep when the oil got hot. |

I chased an oil leak for a while and discovered it was the push rod tube base... looked like it was leaking from everywhere else... but it was the push rod tube... I don’t use stock set up on my bike anymore. |

I have nrhs pushrod bases, no noticeable leak there. I did take it out for a good run this AM, and did not see the leak running down swing arm as it usually does. I had resealed the pcv valves to cover (XB), as well as inlet into puke can, before I took it out. I also ran it with the drain line from tank open , just to see. So far so good. Fingers crossed. |

Curious. What do you mean by the “drain line from the tank” since OE S2 oil tanks have a threaded drain plug instead of a drain line w/plug like later models. |

I didn't explain that well. The drain from the breather puke can is what I meant. |
