I contacted the original purchaser of my S2 (when Lance was working at SPHD he could print down the HD Net data sheet on your VIN). The data sheet shows build date, original purchasers name, dealer, city/state of purchaser, recall status, ect. I used the name and city and found a couple phone numbers and left a message. I never got a return call. So that was unfortunate. |

Thanks Ted, updated the list and will post the file again at end of year. Interesting - I thought I recognized Robert's BadWeb name. Just for fun I keep my own "barn built Buells" owners list that shows Robert living in Nevada and owning an Curraco Blue 89 RS (obviously), but with unknown VIN. Wonder if he still has it? Cheers |

Right, the S2 is in CA with my daughter, I am in NV. Back in 1989, the RS1200 was the first motorcycle I saw in a magazine and fell in love with. Was finally able to buy my beloved 1989 RS1200 a few years ago. Of course the tank started to leak, so bought a new tank so that I could ride. Thread is in BadWeb. VIN ends in 004. Yep! #4 in production and nearly showroom perfect. She is a rider after all. |

Hi guys, hope you’re all well. Here’s the end of year registry update - status as of 12/31/20. Latest spreadsheet (5 tabs) attached - changes/updates from last version appear in BLUE font. I know the original intent of this list was a ‘registry’ of member bikes but as I have been adding all bikes I come across in sale ads or whatever, so it has morphed into a log of all known survivor bikes - at least at some period in time – with, vin, color, mileage, owner, location and date listed whenever possible. Plus a list of those known to have been destroyed. Hope no one minds this. For example, my friend recently found an immaculate, early (billet triple tree) 1995 S2 at the Marconi Auto Museum in my home town of Tustin, CA. As soon as they re-open after lockdown I’ll get over there and get the VIN and mileage and we’ll have found one more survivor. Wherever possible I list in the comments if a bike was for sale, where and when, so at least we know it was alive and well at that time. Anyway, let me know of any comments, changes, concerns, or wishes. Here is a summary: 1995 S2s Total Identified by VIN 241 Known Destroyed 25 Identified Member Bikes 162 Unidentified Member Bikes 111 1996 S2s Total Identified by VIN 29 Identified Member Bikes 21 Unidentified Member Bikes 37 Known Destroyed 2 1996 S2Ts Total Identified by VIN 73 Identified Member Bikes 56 Unidentified Member Bikes 38 Known Destroyed 5 Spare Covers 1995 S2 - 18 1996 S2 - 3 1996 S2T - 9 Unknown – 1 Again, if the file doesn't launch directly, try copying to your desktop and open with Excel or PM me for a copy. Cheers! Andrew |

Hello, I tried to download the file but it shows as a .unk file. I was going to check if my bike is on the list, I sold my M2 but still have the ‘95 S2. Edit: managed to get it open now Edited edit: I’m on the list, mileage s a little higher now, hope to have it back on the road this Spring sometime. Uploading and downloading a .xlsx causes issues with many apps, so the trick is to change the extension to .unk and upload/download that. Just change .unk to .xlsx. |

I've got the 1996 S2T #321. Jerry Czerwinski built this beauty at the Buell factory in East Troy for himself, pictures from Brankin Brehmer! (Message edited by two_seasons on October 13, 2022) |

Tigerman, I have a spare cover I bought off EBAY some time ago. It is complete including original box and postcard, etc. Does not belong to my S2T (0066). Last four VIN: 0961 Build Date: 03/02/95 Signature No.: 95S249961/399 Crankcase: 3395044005 Engine: RT11S000961 Cover No.:961/139 I do not know the fate of the bike, but if it is still alive and the owner is out there, I will be glad to work something out. |

Not sure if I've updated this list or not but...95 S2 #1365 died in 2018 when I hit a deer. I still have it; the steering head nearly separated from the frame. Top tubes popped off at the welds, bottom tubes buckled. I purchased 96 S2T #248 (VIN 3000248) from a buddy last year (2022) who was the original owner. Sitting at 8023 miles today (7100ish when I got it). No card, but I think I have the plate and letter somewhere. |

Thanks Joe - yes, other than the millage the list has both up to date. BTW, my 96 S2T #241 was built the same month as yours and now at about the same millage (8,300) - Cheers |

Yeah, my mileage will be going UP as soon as I get the service finished. Currently my lift is tied up with a '72 Honda for a buddy, but my S2T has 10 year old oil in it and I need to change that out before I do any more riding.... |

Michael, is that # 4MZRT...0122 or # 1B9RT...3122? Also, if you still have your S2T need the number of that one too. Thanks, Andrew |

I've got 0080 and 0025 of the 4MZRT bikes. 0080 is still going strong, turbo'd and everything. 0025 is going through a pretty extensive restomod, getting an XR1200 engine and a bunch of other goodies, including one of the shorter IHI 105S's. VIN (last 4); 0025 Build Date; MAR 95 CA or State; CA Sig Series Status; Color; Black Sapphire Pearl / PM Wheels BadWeb ID; twin_savage Name; Paul Location; San Diego, CA Mileage; 12,250 Comments; dual front disc, original shock |
