So did the RS's have the same type of handlebar setup as the S2's?
=====
And is the fork tube spacing the same between the S2 and the earlier Buells?

I'd have to look. As I recall they did have the same number of handlebars.

Yes it's from the RS. I'd like to see similar pics of the S2 top yoke if you guys have camera's handy.
The handlebars are identical as far as I can see to the S2s. One of my fork legs is for an S2.
I assumed the front forks were the same on the RS and S2 until now.

I'd like to get the S2T bars for the RS if anyone sees a set cheap.

Josh:

This is from an "early" S-2 build (11-94); note the swirl maks left in the material.

As I *RECALL* the swirl marks were later cleaned up for beautiosity, then a nifty (frankly kinda cool looking darkish gray) cast piece evolved as a result of priciosity.

If you have specific questions regarding interchange twinxt the RS and the S-2 let me know by court@canfield.net and then of course bug the dickens out of me.

: )

S-2 Top Triple Tree Yoke - sharp eyes will note the very first (at least with H-D assn) Buell recall piece hiding in the picture

>>>I LIKE the tool marks

I do too, kinda like the initials under the tank cover, Paco Delucia sliding the fingers, or the sound of the air conditioner at Apple Studios kicking on at the end of the "E Major" piano chord at the end of "A Day in The Life".

But, you and I, as writers, are forever bound to the "like scars in fine leather" metaphor.

You are the best!

P.S. - Add autogrpahs on a can of refried beans to that list.

it's good to see the signs of a person involved in the process, no matter what it is (add Ducatio wleds to the list, tho not as cool as autographed bean cans, I'll grant you)

i've been called the "cork in the wine," so I spose it's all relative ;-}

That's what mine looks like, too, by the way. And I like the tool marks, too.

"cork in the wine" is better than "the bad apple", which is what I usually hear!

Anyone have a spare speedo reset knob nut for an S2.
I checked and tightened mine when this topic last popped up but it must have vibrated loose.
It's now missing.
I'm currently using a "O" ring to hold it from dropping through the dash.

hmmm, ought to be able to find a spare at a hardware store. It looks like a nut holding the old shaft-style car radio dials.

Ohmygosh....and late on a Friday afternoon you strike the Achilles Heel of Buell parts!

Let me cut to the chase, I like you, and save you some time.

Go tell your dealer that you have lost the speedo reset knob for you (choose about any year between 1987-1/2 and 1995) SPORTSTER.

Mention the word Buell and you will think you have been consumed in a cyclone of confusion.

You have my e-mail address, I suspect we'll be corresponding in the next week.
: )

Remind me to tell you how all this started.....

Court

P.S. - do NOT mention this to Dave Gess. At his tender age, I shudder to guess how the words "Buell Speedo Reset Nut" will effect him.

Do any of you Olde School Buell-o-philes know where to find an original decal set for an S2? Failing that, does anyone have the technology to replicate them?

I've become smitten with my buddy's "high voltage yellow" S1 and I'm leaning towards painting the S2 accordingly.

Sacrilege?

Buell S2, S2T, S3 or S3T parts they are READILY (as they ship from Buell within hours, not days) AVAILABLE.

Do not let anyone tell you that any tube frame stuff is obsolete.

E-mail me the details of the decals you need with something like "Need: 1995 S2 Decals" in the subject line. I'll see what the status is.

Hey Court (0r any anybody else that might know),
A couple of years ago Jamie, and Bill, were telling me about an upgrade kit to install the later S3 bags onto an S2. Do you know anything about this, maybe a part number, or someone that has one they want to part with?

Thanks,
Mike

There was, to the best of my knowledge, no such kit from Buell.

I have seen Buell owners do it quite impressively and I think there used to be something about how to do it on the old ATC site. I am not sure if there is an ATC site anymore, but someone may have put it in the knowledge vault here.
