Does anyone here have the Banke brake lever on an S1? I picked one up for my S1, originally from an X1, so it doesn't have the little cutout on the back. Just trying to find out exactly what it looks like from the back so I know how much to trim off. S1 with cutout
X1 without cutout

You can by very nice shifyers and brakes from both Purpony at http://www.mcmoto-worx.com/buell-tube-framed-parts .html And Redstang At https://www.facebook.com/engineeredvelocity/ |

Thanks for the links Ken. I've seen the stuff they make and they're both super nice. The MCmoto-worx ones look especially good. Either way, I've already got the lever, just need to get the clearance on the back so it fits properly. |

...good info. Might be why the shifter I put on one of my S1Ws rub. DAve |

I had to put a slight clearance arc in mine so it did not hit the derby cover when I up shift but If I did not wear big safety toe boots when I ride I could have it adjusted lower and it would not hit. |

I agree, it must just be the way your shifter is adjusted. There shouldn't be any difference between the way the X1 and S1 shifters fit. The only difference is that the mounting blocks on the X1s are 2 pieces that fit together to allow you to use the chin fairing. Aside from that, I'd expect the dimensions to still be the same. Mine has the 2 piece mount so I'll see if it rubs for some reason. If it does I'll have to make a spacer to go behind the mounting block. The brake levers are different because the S1 has a small tab welded onto the frame that restricts how far upward the brake lever can travel. The steel brake lever has a small set screw on the back that lets you adjust it. I'm not sure what keeps the X1's lever from rotating backwards. Either way, Mees sent me a couple pictures, so I at least have something to go off of now when I get time to try and mount mine. For some reason, that mill I never ordered hasn't been delivered yet, so I'll need to pull out the dremel.
