So i picked up a 2000 X1 this weekend.. Runs good.. rode it 200 miles home. has typical after market stuff.. but engine and everything were kept up fairly well. The one electrical issue I found is the ECM light and low fuel light do not work. is this a issue that someone else has delt with or am i in new territory? my 2002 X1WL never had this.. so new to me... the bulbs look good.. so that isn't the problem. any help guys?

"The bulbs look good so that isn't the problem" The first thing I'd do is swap them into any other bulb holder that does work just to confirm.

Are you saying the engine light isn't coming on for 4 sec when the key is turned on? The low fuel light could be the sensor. I had mine go bad and left me a mile from work, bulb was good.

One caveat:
The low fuel light bulb is different and had to be to work.
The sensor in the tank has no moving parts and uses a little heater with a thermister to detect if there is fuel there to cool it down.

It's really neat. Looks like a condenser from the old points days. It only has one wire coming out.

But I digress.... The filament bulb in the dash needs to be the exact correct type in order for this Rube Goldberg thing to work.
