So i picked up a 2000 X1 this weekend.. Runs good.. rode it 200 miles home. has typical after market stuff.. but engine and everything were kept up fairly well. The one electrical issue I found is the ECM light and low fuel light do not work. is this a issue that someone else has delt with or am i in new territory? my 2002 X1WL never had this.. so new to me... the bulbs look good.. so that isn't the problem. any help guys? |

"The bulbs look good so that isn't the problem" The first thing I'd do is swap them into any other bulb holder that does work just to confirm. |

Are you saying the engine light isn't coming on for 4 sec when the key is turned on? The low fuel light could be the sensor. I had mine go bad and left me a mile from work, bulb was good. |

One caveat: The low fuel light bulb is different and had to be to work. The sensor in the tank has no moving parts and uses a little heater with a thermister to detect if there is fuel there to cool it down. It's really neat. Looks like a condenser from the old points days. It only has one wire coming out. But I digress.... The filament bulb in the dash needs to be the exact correct type in order for this Rube Goldberg thing to work. |

Did you check the + 12v I thiknk that the ecm switches the ground on and off for the light.. nate's right the lamp for low fuel is a specific wattage. |
