File down your plastic tabs so they fit through the slots - the plastic absorbs fuel vapor over the years and swells, that's the common "it won't fit" issue. |

Just keep searching on ebay every few days. They're never gone that long, I'd say a couple weeks at most before he makes more and relists them. I just bought one this winter. Put it on the bike but haven't had it out on the road since, definitely a nice improvement though. |

I think there is a screw on the bottom side that you have to adjust maybe that's the problem. |

The rubber been off bike for two years guess its stiff and I loosened nut no go . Loosened it till doesnt engage flats on threaded rod and still wont work> Assembled correctly because only way it will work and worked fine till installed on tank |

Mine is about 1/8 inch from bottomed out. I'll play with it tomorrow when I remove my front wheel for a new tire. |

Just curious here. I have had issues with tanks and caps before due to storage. Put the tank in the sun with no cap and gas in it then install the parts the tanks shrink overtime when stored. |

Not sure what's going on, I tried reassembling mine in various wrong ways to try and recreate your "cant turn cap" problem but couldn't do it, my center tab on top always turned. You wrote "Loosened it till doesnt engage flats on threaded rod" which strikes me as wrong, I believe the 'slotted washer' that screws into the alum insert must engage the flats on the threaded rod. Maybe your 'slotted washer' needs to be rotated 90 degrees? The long axis of that 'slotted washer' should share the same axis as the 'ears' on the alum insert.

I had that issue and resolved it by loosening the nut. |
