I need some help. Gist of the story is I spun my crank pin in '09, planned on a rebuild, bought a Vulcan and it has sat, disassembled since. Fast forward to'18 and I've since found out that I've got a herniated disc and two bulging, bought a camper and none of my three kids want to ride anymore. The help I need is this; coworker found out about the bike and asked me to price it and I don't really know what to ask. I have to do all or nothing because parting out is not an option, period. It's a '99 carbon fiber extreme, rolling chassis and disassembled motor, 25k miles. Several extra cf goodies and a NOS Buell cf tank cover. Extra swing arm 90% sanded w/axle and pivot bolts. Extra set of blinkers, seat, race ECM, cable, 1250 NRHS kit and a handful of other stuff along with everything that originally came off of it. It's got stuff that became pretty sought after since Buell went under such as the torque grips and axle bolt covers and amigo tank bag. I initially thought about 3k but you can buy a running bike for that soooo... What in your opinion is something like this worth, fair market? Sorry if this needs to be in the for sale or some other section, admins can move it if need be. Thanks. |

I know you don't want to part it, but i would at least sell the 1250 kit separately. I don't think you'll ever sell the bike and that kit and make money on the deal. The engine can be rebuilt, but I think a buyer is going to buy it and spend the money on a spare engine, which is probably not much more than the new parts needed to rebuild it. I'd say $2000 tops. Sounds like youve got a lot of nice parts, but unfortunately upgraded parts rarely help resale, and the bike is gonna cost a bit of money and time to get it back on the road. |

Bummer, but I agree. Some nice parts but the buyer is taking a big risk on a non-running bike in milk crates Can you put the time into it to at least get it back together/ running? Otherwise, take the loss and move on or it will sit and rot for another decade |
