Hey Guys, I've got a problem with my indicator dash lights. I've replaced them with LED's and for some reason they won't flash when the engine is running. However they're fine without. I'm thinking it might be some regulator issue. Anyone have any ideas? cheers |

Led lights are directional. Another words it matters which direction tour pistive cones fron. The oil and neutral light system is ran in reverse so you need to switch the positve and negative. Or flip the light around etc |

Thanks S1 Owner. Would it reverse the polarity once the bike is running though? It works fine by just turning the ignition on. Thanks |

Maybe the signal indicator circuit requires more resistance than the LED provides? When I swapped LEDs into my XB's panel, I found that the signal indicator would only function with an incandescent bulb. (Message edited by dtaylor on January 07, 2018) |

Thanks Dtayler, yes that was my other thought it's just strange that it works when the engine isn't running considering that it would provide the same amount of current. |

I need to replace the HI BEAM indicator. How does one remove this small bulb? Does it just pull out of the socket? Pull the pair of wires from the bottom of the plastic holder? Sure seems fixed in the indicator holder. Where do you find these bulbs (not shown in the parts book) BTW, I'm new to BUELLS. Have a nice 2001 M2. These are really neat bikes! |

I believe they whole rubber socket will pull out the back and the bulb just pulls out of the socket. You can just pull the bulb through the front if you can get a grip on it. Sometimes the bulb is fine its just loose or corroded also. |

Fyi I switched my S1 to led on all the dash lights and did not have to run resistors they worked just fine. |

But he is notvtalking aboutvthe turn signals. That is a flasher issue with not enough load to trigger the flasher and easy to fix with a 10 dolkar led flasher or load resistors. He is talking about the dash indicator lights. Load should not be sn issue there as there is no flasher and the load is so minimal to start with. |

S1owner - I know it's bizzare, that's why I'm thinking it could be the voltage regulator doing something strange once the engine is running. Buellbum - The turn signal dash lights work fine with just the ignition on. It's as soon as I turn the engine on they stop. |
