My M2 front goes up when accelerating and down when braking. I am thinking of getting some race tech springs. I can do the swap by myself without a jack - ie no way to lift up the front end ? Also considering when I change the front tire next, just swap to inverted forks ? |

When I did mine I used to ratchet straps and hung the front of the bike from the ceiling. Fork swap sounds like a good idea. You'll need new triples, or have yours bored out to fit the new forks. You'll need new headlight brackets and a new front fender, but everything else would switch right over. |

+1 what upthemaiden said. I just rebuilt mine. Remove tank, sling frame, attach to rafter/strong hook & lift. See second pic in thread: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/476 23/813061.html?1503365570 |

Cyclone's way is better, but I didn't even bother to pull my tank off, I just wrapped it around the front of the frame. Ideally the best option is to remove the tank, use two straps, one to each side of the frame. I also attached a picture of a simple spring compressor tool you can use to get the split washers off. I just cut a notch out of the top and drilled two holes in the sides for the hooks. Then I stuck a steel rod through the axle hole. Do yourself a favor and run a threaded rod with some washers or something through the rod. At one point one of the strap hooks slid right off of the end of the rod and scared the crap out of me, was probably a bit dangerous to do it without haha. You can also see the metal wire I wrapped around the adjuster screw. Without the washers, it'll just drop straight down into the center so you need something tied around it to pull it back up(or maybe you can just do all of this with the fork leg upside down? I didn't try that). Overall it's a simple job, but it is MUCH easier with 3-4 hands instead of 2.

Well that's an interesting way to do it... What springs did you go with. |

"Well that's an interesting way to do it... What springs did you go with." Are you referring to me or Mhlunsford? I was just replacing fork seals, kept the stock springs. |
