I snagged my 1997 S3 is stock form (except for the factory carbon bits and a SuperTrapp exhaust) for $2100 in Washington State. It's a solid, clean bike with minimal needs, but wasn't cosmetically perfect by any means. That said, it seemed like an above average "good deal", and it was in November.

For "good condition" . . figure anywhere from $2,700 to $4,000. "Excellent, with bags" could fetch $4,000 to $5,500. If someone puts Henrik's up for sale . . . it's worth a solid $6,000. |

A 97 S3 bone stock, with 20k miles sold on eBay yesterday for $1850. I bought my 2000 S3 (DDFI) with 2700 miles in November for $2700. I bought an S2 in need of a decent amount of work last fall for $1700. Another guy local to me has DDFI S3T with deep and shallow bags in good condition, 50k miles, listed for $3800 for over a month now with no takers. Just my opinion that the $4k days are over for the S3. It's the $2k days now. |

Thanks for all the info,I did buy the bike, after doing some digging I would say S3 will never reach the 3000 plus price range. What is sad is that people are asking more for a blast than a S3. Don't get me wrong I have a blast also and will never sell it but it really does not come close to a S3 |

I wouldn't let mine go for less then 5000 To my eye, it is the best looking bike ever made. I too have seen some crazy Blast prices on Craigslist... Please post a pic or two of the bike you picked up.

That D&D will clean up with a wire brush and a can of stove paint. Very reliable. |

Loved reading this thread. Reminds me of when I bought my 2000 S3T back in 2012 for $3500. Same color with the narrow hard bags. I feel I got a great deal since it only had 5k miles on it... (had to double check it was 2012. Seems like a couple years ago. Now have over 35k on it.) I only wish I had the stock air cleaner, but I could not mount it now since an Indy cut off the mount to extract a broken exhaust stud... Sigh. |

Beautiful S3's fellas and you got great deals... My M2L is a wannabe S3. I was looking at a black/nuclear-blue S3T but knew it would be too tall for my stubby self so I settled for the M2L that somehow metamorphosed (or bastardized-depending upon your point of view)
