Interesting color combo for sure! Are the wheels goldish or bronze? Very neat and clean work on the engine. |

The wheels are an antique gold flake. Think late 60's early 70's magnesium wheels:

Did you forget to put the billet tube bases on? |

No, they didn't fit. Was weird like they were from the wrong bike. Wouldn't fit with the new cylinders, wouldn't line up with the bolt holes, didn't have a place for the indexing puns. Sucked actually. Not sure what happened. Was a little disappointed. (Message edited by ft bstrd on April 25, 2017) |

I am very jealous of your project. Can't wait to see finished. I have a non running 2000 M2 that I have used for parts. Would love to be doing what you are doing, just don't have the energy. As soon as my grandsons are old enough I am going to use them as slave labor with the completed bike as reward. Keep up the good work and keep posting both the things that go right as well as the bad. |

Engine build day, take two. Finished up the rocker boxes, covers, and gear case cover.

The indexing pins are not required with the one piece billet based. I've used them on 3 or 4 photos now. I just pull the indexing pins out. I also use the full kit, billet one piece bases and collapsible push rod tubes with stock pushrods, much better design than stock.. Looks like a great build!! Keep the thread going!! |

This is no critic on your work ,but shouldn't the cam cover installed before tightening the rockers down!? Or because of the tappets are not completely filled with oil so there is not much tension you did it this way around? You also lubed everything with oil on the gear and rockers i suppose? Keep the pictures coming! Thanks |

There wasn't much tension. We left the cover to last so that we could rotate through TDC and double check cam timing. The tappets are mostly bled down. Lots of lube everywhere. (Message edited by ft bstrd on April 30, 2017) |

I see you remembered to slip the belt in there before you bolted up the isolators. |

I would have to write myself a note and pin it to my forehead. Fortunately, both of my tubers have removable side plates (because I've had to take one back off...I need a hole in my head like I need a hole in my head). |
