We got a version of that snow storm in the Chicago area too. But the roads are clear which is good enough for me. Yay for heated gloves!!!!! |

Beautiful bikes... My Buell mule loaded for two-up camping at Tallulah Gorge (GA) [but the Wife refused to ride two-up and drove the car separately ]

Thanks Marc! That's definitely the goal with any of my projects. I'd rather have people ask "what is it" than "who built that" or "that's a sweet modified..." |

Over here in Germany the spring is coming and the temperatures are within the 10-15C° range. Made a 300Km ride yesterday. The 88" engine is so much fun, could ride on forever. Now the Cyclone is performing like it should. Pulls like a traction engine, torque from idle.

Ralph... nice picture. I like your cardinal rule for doing mechanical work... I won't even change oil on my vehicles if I had a couple of beers. it seems like either I end up busting a knuckle or break something. The part about walking away from a problem when not all is going well is key. |

Xdevil , good picture, like your bike! i got my Axtell 88" barrels about three weeks back, & will start my cyclone 88" build in around 4 weeks time. i am going to dynamic balance the flywheels will change balance factor to 52%. i have used that with good results on Harley before. |

Xdevil , thanks , i'm just building it for more Torque will also rebuild flywheels and change balance factor & use corrillo rods. at the start it will be same tune as it is now with less compression than i have now with 74" as my cranking pressure now 230pound. i got flat top pistons for bath tub chamber. will run motor in do heat cycles on my friends dyno. then ride a few thousand to check & get feel of set up. then to the drag strip, let the long black dyno tell me how it's running & what the trap speed is quarter mile once i can ride it @ 1.65 seconds in 60 foot standing start i'll know i have mastered that. also have a custom made manifold. then i'll put the red shift 630/585 cam's in, motor will be set up for these cams as they make good torque fast. also have my friend who has raced Harleys 30 years building my gear box back cutting gears, when he does them they shift lighting quick so motor stays on the power between shifts. but i still have to master the riding & also on a diet & exercise plan as have to get fit to do it. can ride all year here. |

Lakes, my Cyclone has got a complete crank rebuild including Carillo rods and the Twin Motorcycles Sprocket shaft bearing kit ( inner and outer ). Cams are Wood W8 cams for max torque Lift 590 . http://www.woodcarbs.com/cams.htm Rev limiter set in at 6000 rpm. |

Xldevil, few friends of mine like the Wood cams for there TQ the Red Shift 630/585 is along the lines of the Wood cams with aggressive opening closing & short duration a friend that does a lot of HD tuning told me the Red Shift work well. like yourself i will be keeping rev's under 6,000 as motor lasts longer. thats why i'm getting my friend to rebuild gear box as will be short shifting at track might set rev limit at 6,500 i have a Bobby Wood rebel 43.5 carb & love it. the main jets are holley & go up in one thou increasements so can fine tune, he uses a stepped needle this does not add performance over a tapered needle but gas mileage is really good. also he has changed the air bleed so his carbs run very fat primary jetting but as air bleed larger you go further on the primary jet before main jet comes in. also uses stock spring so you have the CV working as it should. i love it as never get a flat spot just open throtnder load it goes!! enjoy your riding! |
