So now that i have my new triple tree and 1125 forks fitted to my X1 and my rear penske shock adjustment maxed out... i didnt like the way the bike was sitting. I looked into having racetech lower my 1125 forks but decided to try a new front shock mount first. This moves the front eyelet forward 0.800" but then allows me to adjust the penske back out lowing the rear and dialing it in where needed. Machined from chrome-moly 4140 alloy- hopefully going to finish it up tonight and bolt it on so see how it sits. If all is going i can bead blast and powdercoat saturday.

Im sure billet aluminum is strong enough.... BUT... its a very high stress part and i feel that 4140 alloy is a safer choice. |

So, you are not changing the height of the seat with this new front mount, correct? It looks like the dims are the same, yes? |

no- seat is staying where it is. With this new shock mount raising the rear a little, my feet are still flat footed and my leg is bent when sitting on the bike. The front end was raised a little with the 1125 forks and my penske was just not adjustable enough. So the front mount is moved forward allowing the swingarm to come down more lifting the rear.... then i have the adjustment back with my penske were i can now fine tune it. |
