I have no key for the steering lock on my S2. Is there a way to get it out with no key? I guess "no" but want to be sure before giving up. (Message edited by s2forever on February 20, 2017) |

Is there a number on the lock? Maybe someone here has a key that would work. |

I went to my HD dealer I get my Buell parts from and was able to get a new key by providing a VIN. It wasnt cheap, but it was easier and probably less money than buying an expensive drill bit and going to town. |

I have an S2 and an S2T, and don't have a steering lock key for either one - so (obviously) I just don't use them. I an curious why you would you want to take it out? Why not just forget about it? |

I live in Korea where there is no Buell dealer. And there is no part number for the key, is there? I am reluctant to drill it out. It seems quite difficult to drill out hard metal without damaging frame neck. Well, I have a lock and key assembly I bought long time ago, having thought it must be easy to replace. Last weekend I took steering stem out hoping it may slide out into the neck by pushing. Well, what it really does is to lock itself to the steering neck. I am amazed at truly stupid design. |

This lock is also used on Sportsers of the same year. Tiny little key with 4 pin. A good lock smith can create a key for you, like the one who made the key for me. Process a locksmith uses is to put in a fresh blank, wiggle it to get pin marking, then file down where each pin marks. This process continues till each position is filed for depth. Took my lock smith about 15 minutes. |
