Does anyone know stock base gasket thickness, whose part number is 16774-86D (coated steel)? |

Talking about this ,did the engines for the tube frame buells always assembled with base gaskets? Because i have a 96 s1 engine and that had only some clear rtv at the base. |

If you measure the squish band (see the tech articles on the NRHS site) you will find that you can likely get closer to the desired 0.030 with no base gasket. I did this when I went to a 1250 kit. |

Just measure your local funny papers. Just use a good set of calipers. thats all. The rear has started to leak at 35k |

To have never leak again install a set of pig tails and the oil will never touch the base gasket. |

I have already bought copper sets. If it leaks again I will try RTV/pig tail. Thanks a lot. |
