Just about wrapped up the Ducati Monster tail swap on my new-to-me '97 S3T. Rediculous what a difference it make to the look of the bike. Looks about 100lbs lighter... Still have a few minor details to wrap up (mounting side covers securely, tidying wiring, and plugging frame holes) I have some ideas for some visual changes to the front end, and plan to add a functional tail rack to it as well. Honestly, the one piece Buell seat bracket made this the easiest seat swap I've ever encountered...No welding or extra brackets. Just a few riv-nuts, and cutting a bunch of stuff off. |

That looks great. I think it makes the bike look more up to date. |

I'm working on a seat swap for my S1 but with the later style Monster seat. I had to build a serious bracket to get everything right. The S1 has a ALOT more angle built in to the subframe. |

That's looking very good ,did you close the cut off frame ends or leave them open? |

Still open for the moment, but they will be capped off. I may incorporate a threaded mount for a tail rack into that hole. |

That's very cool! I made something like that for my XB 12s years ago. |

I usually get in trouble when I tell someone they have a nice rack |

You're making me think hard about doing something similar... the drawback for me would be losing the factory bags, but if I'm honest, I hate them anyway. If I was to do something custom with the tail, I'd probably just add some aftermarket panniers... |

Yeah, I've contemplated a set of these bags for mine: http://www.ebay.com/itm/301433701404?_trksid=p2055 119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT |
